oh i forgot we only buy low spec machines from softlogic.DELL servers n laptops r bought from singapore cos they'r half the price...n that is no exaggeration...

i recommend yasantha too...he's jus off kotte...he sells his own system...i think he gets it from korea but i cant remembr the cost...he's very gud in installation of any electronics includin audio...and im proud to say i had a pagin system in my car way several yrs b4 local vendors got em ...yasantha did the needful...

a gud frnd of mine is in NUS...students get very gud deals on laptops there...and dont worry abt durability cos she's using a 17" HP laptop dats still batting on however much she hacks it...wat line r u gettin into? if ur not goin to use anythng beyond MS office n the internet, a basic machine that fits ur budget wud do...

the classifieds...but if u want it in a hurry u'd hav to buy it from the pricey vendors

if u go to a vendor in unity plaza they will charge an arm and a leg for SDRAM...but there are a lot of people who sell them cheap to get rid of stock...

Duncan if ur requirements are just for photo editing there's no use in goin for hi-spec laptops like Apple Powerbooks...not really sure how the newer IBM's are but they've been recommended so they shud b gud...one thing tho...however temptin these slim laptops look dont touch em even if they dont see the outside of ur bedroom...they'r way too fragile IMO (eg Sony Vaio)... But...if ur lookin to edit video in the near future u'll need a very hi-spec machine so beware... Oh and btw dont make the mistake of NOT backin up ur best bits onto DVD's...ive learnt from that mistake...gravely

ok i'll b realistic...based on me gettin a better job and stayin a bachelor 1. Obviously a GC8 STi for weekends...probably a 5 or 6...I know it'll b really old by then but I'll still have one... 2. Volvo S60 T5/Audi A4 1.8T as a daily runner...might consider BMW's but NO Merc...not my thing... 3. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R (600cc) once again for weekends... a bit down-to-earth i think...jk
