Changing engines of the same category (fuel) dont require number changes, but you DO have to inform the RMV of the engine swap.

I just realized you already own a Toyota Corolla as per this thread. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15674-radiator-fan-working-continuously-on-ek-3/?p=252638 Why are you asking for buying advice for a vehicle you already have?? It's not cool to waste people's time. -

Buy the corolla 110. No point dragging this thread unnecessarily because and answer to 1, 2 and 3 is the Corolla.. PS: If you want to know each and every information search the forum. People have other things to do than repeat things that have been said over and over again. -
You'll certainly need to give a lot more information for us to help you. Things like 'sounds' cant easily be diagnosed remotely. For starters... 1. Are you sure it's from the steering wheel? 2. Is it only 2 ticks? Or is it continuous? 3. Is it only while the steering is being rotated, or is it as long as the steering is not straight

I don't mean to sound stupid, but I think I am. Is there a reason you've cut off the tyre and left part of it on the rim instead of removing the tyre as a whole?

This has been discussed before in greater detail.. Basically, as a regular road user you don't need strobe lights. Having it only makes you like like a dipsh!t with an inferiority complex. Why do you want to be 'that' guy?

Machan it's not my forum to dictate rules on how old a thread should be if it is to be bumped up with a new question. My personal view is that it makes more logical sense to bump up a 5 year old topic. In cases of generic questions like painting or accident repairs, yes the price someone paid for a paint job 5 years ago wont be the same now, but there maybe other valuable information such as things to look out for when choosing a painter etc which is valid no matter when it was said. And say in another 5 years someone is doing a search and they see this thread and another that's 5 years older. Will it matter if the thread is from 5 years ago or 10 years ago? it's already outdated. Right now, even this common topic is scattered all over the place based on everyone looking at the issue only from their own perspective. "I have rust, who's the best tinker?", "How is XXX shop for accident repairs?", "Mazda 3 dent fixing". Imagine if everyone's knowledge and experience on tinkering/painting compiled in one thread. How easy would it be. Or imagine all discussions about "Toyota corolla 110" being in one thread. Wouldn't that be a treat for a newbie. It's not an uncommon think...When I was planning on buying a bike, I remember reading a thread that was 50+ pages about that model. At the end of that thread I knew everything I needed to know about. I didnt have to go hunting under all possible key words related to it. I shall stop rambling now. So don't worry on how old the thread is, just use it. When members read it they'll know to look at the date and respond accordingly -
"more power" is a pretty subjective term. Do you currently have an amp meter in your jeep? If so the first thing is that you need to know if you really NEED to upgrade your alternator. With the headlights, AC and any other heavy loads, the battery should be charging just a tad bit. If yours does that you have no problems.

You're not the first person who thought of it and discussed it. Please refer to the exisiting threads such as this: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/14465-solar-panel/

I wonder all those great defenders-of-the-newbies are when the newbies really want help. RehanaA, who just a few days ago came here asking for help regarding her accident repair is no where to be seen when she has the chance to reciprocate someone who has the SAME problem. Sylvi, who with his 50 years of automotive experience, and knowledge of many international forums. EAP, the great wise one who is can identify the dumb and stupid. He did a entire Defender restoration project, right? He must know SOME mechanic who can do some tinkering and painting. -

Trinity said the exact words I wanted to say. Machan carbuddy, be a bit more grateful for the FREE help and advice you are getting from this forum. All the mods have their own full-time jobs, and don't get paid anything for their services to Autolanka. And it's not an easy job. So as a community it is our responsibility to make the job easier for them, as well as help each other out. Which is why we are trying to promote good forum practices among ourselves. So if you feel that you don't get "good searches and good administration" for all the money you spend to be part of the forum, you can get a full refund and go elsewhere. No moderator is going to read every thread and post to make sure its relevant to the topic and categories for your browsing pleasure. So be a good sport and be the change you want to see. -

Don't you agree that if all the car painting related posts were on one thread you could have found your result much more easily? but right now there's like a dozens of threads where the information about accident repairs / painting / tinkering is scattered. What we want to do is make sure the information on a certain topic is consolidated in their respective areas / threads. By opening a new thread you are making it even MORE difficult for other LIKE YOU. So that's one more redundant thread someone has to read through. Some of us are on the forum very frequently hence we know what has been discussed where. The objective of this exercise / initiative is to make it easier for new (or not so frequent) members (like you) to find things. It has nothing to do with disliking you personally. And be more understanding and grateful.. For you to "get information" someone has to take time our of thir own lives and "give the information". You can't expect members to repeat themselves every week when someone who has an accident comes here and asks where they should go to repair their car. -

It still doesn't explain why you cant use an existing thread. Its not like you're thread is going to be "new" forever, right? -
I agree with Davy. A prime example is the guy who opened a thread today for an accident repair shop. edit: If someone opened this thread just to find out how to do a search, the first couple of posts would have been helpful enough. So I guess it shouldn't be a issue if we discuss indirectly related stuff at this point...

Why do you have to open a new thread instead of continuing on an existing thread? Is your accident repair 'special' that it requires a discussion of its own? edit: Mods, can we lock this thread or move this to the other long accident repair thread? I personally feel that we should take a stand against such redundant threads coming up and cluttering the forum. Next thing we know there'll be threads for "i want to repair my front bumber", "I want to repair my read bumber", "I want to repair my left front door" etc etc... -
Careful man.. don't say stuff like that, it could hurt their tender feelings. you don't want to have some people point fingers at your calling you a newbie-rapist, right?

Machan JDM means Japanese Domestic Market? Hence if it was officially sold outside of Japan it wouldn't be domestic anymore. Same with the 'Singapore' model. Don't you agree?

Any Type Of Advice On Buying And Selling Cars ?
Watchman replied to Rajitha4774's question in Car Buying Information
Thanks for that bit of info. I just started watching the series on youtube, but to my disappointment it sucked balls. They do nothing to the car except wash a car or sell it in a more upscale location. I guess it's not impossible nor dishonest, but all you do is take advantage of someone's unfamiliarity of the market. In my book it's not a very moral thing to do. But I'll hold m judgement till the OP tells us a bit more about himself and his intentions.- 11 replies

Well, the next stage of the project was to change the petrol tank. The stock tank holds 10 liters, which is OK, but still on a long trip or when heading into a trail you're always on pins on if you can make it back. And for some mysterious reason my fuel consumption suddenly dropped from 20kmpl to 12. That's a story for another day).. Having to top up every 120km is a real buzz-kill. So I did my research and there were a few options. I sure am lucky that the DRZ is a popular bike around the world. So there's a whole lot of after market tanks 12ltr, 13ltr, 17ltr and even 28ltr. The pro of the big tank is that you get longer range, but the con is that the bike gets pretty heavy and a handful in the dirt. So i figured 17ltr would be a good choice, and as luck would have it, i knew a guy who knew a guy who was able to get me a 2nd hand tank for $170 whereas a new one would be more than twice that. The tank had been in storage for a long time and the decal was pretty much decaying..So I spent a few nights rubbing it with a 800 +1000 grit sand paper followed by some brasso and elbow grease. The tank came out pretty nice. The before and after... I was gonna take the tank to a mechanic cos I thought the mounting points could do with some reinforcements, but then I realized I couldn't carry the tank on the bike, so it ended up being a DIY job. I was advised against using the old rubber gasket and petcock cos the gasket could have hardened with age and hence, not sit well onto the new tank. So I got a new petcock off ebay. $12 only. The what-not-to-do lesson: When cutting the length of hose to from the petcock to the carb, don't leave extra length for good measures. Once the tank settled down the tube becomes too long and bends, thus depriving the engine of petrol and the engine dying abruptly. I learnt this on an expressway, nearly shat myself a bit there.

I'll be damned! I didnt know there was such a search field on the homepage. That's because my bookmark is to the new-content on the forum, hence bypassing the homepage all the time. Thanks for that! Which makes me wonder, there's a search box right below the "discussions" section and some people STILL don't bother to use it.. WTF indeed!! Seeing how easy it actually is, the little remorse I had for telling people to go search first is no longer there.

That's going to hit the smaller teams more than anyone else. I doubt the top teams even bother too much about how much the annual entry fee is, but for the smaller teams trying hard to scrape every dollar possible, it's just not going to help at all.
