What Is The Best Place To Do An Efi Tune Up In Colombo Area?
Watchman replied to sampathapg's question in Electrical problems
For starters, if you wish to go into detail on this issue, I think you should open a new thread for this sylvi. An emissions test measures only the amount of certain KNOWN gasses/chemicals in your exhaust. So whatever coolant vapour is in your engine/exhaust is not looked for, hence not detected. It's like going to a hospital and doing a blood-test. They don't perform every known test on your blood. They do just the standard ones which are useful for preliminary diagnosis.- 13 replies

Well, in my case, the headlight doesn't go off, when the starter motor engages. And when you need more than just a few turns for the engine to get going, every amp saved matters. So I decided to install a bypass switch so that I can turn off the lights when starting up, and turn them once running. This is a 12 year old bike. It might be a different story on current/newer DRZs. On my XR too (which is even older), the headlight doesn't go off, but there IS a stock on/off switch. OT: The DRZ being more a weekend bike it doesnt get used that frequently, and in the last couple of months I hadn't been riding it much, and cold-starting was a bitch. Thrice I was cranking the thing till the battery went flat. In the end I said that's enough and sent it to the bike shop. Apparently there's no compression build-up. Suspected cause; the last time the plug was changed (under my ownership), the wrong spec plug was used. Apparently the spark was too hot and over the months messed up the valves. I didn't know bikes had heat-specs for the plug. I sure learnt an expensive lesson on spark-plugs. Then again, what do I know, i'm just a watcher..

11 Reasons Why Hybrid Cars Are Better Than You Think
Watchman replied to chams's topic in General Automotive
Same story in Singapore. Except for some cabs (owned by a single company) I probably see a hybrid maybe once a month at most. But around my bike shop there's a 'hybrid service centre', where I've see a couple of prii as well as a some toyota MPV. But overall, it's not at all popular.. -

It's not required by law for cars, but like in Sri Lanka, some of the newer cars do seem to be using them. Mostly on continental cars. Maybe there's no switch to turn them off. And in fact I've noticed that quite a few bikes don't have a headlight on/off switch either. Just a high/low beam switch. I have overridden it with an additional on/of switch, cos I don't wanna strain the battery when cold starting.
-
Well Singapore has more of less the same climate and sunlight as Sri Lanka and its mandatory to have your headlight (on low beam). And I agree with the notion that you DO see a motorcycle more clearly when they have their headlight on.

where were u when the OP wanted help? If you're not going to direct the OP in the right direction, showing up on your high horse weeks later and critisizing those who do doesnt help.

That's a very good trick to free oneself from all liabilities associated with one's statement. I too should say "I believe that sylvi is a lying jacka$$ who despite having 50 years of experience, makes stupid and idiotic decisions, and then lies to other innocent members which will not only get the unknowing innocent newbie members into financial trouble, legal trouble and even get them killed somehow". I like your version better than sylvi's "I claim to be a expert and give s!tty advice; it's upto the member to take it, but it's not my fault if the member takes my advise and falls into trouble." Thanks, don't worry i wont take full credit for this. And as for your wondering point on why no-one gave a poopy about what moderators say to sylvi; well they ARE the moderators. So should we have moderators for the moderators? Then more moderators for the moderators moderating the moderators? It'll be endless right?
-
Hey dude, I dont know to me the part highlighted in red DOES kinda sound like you're asking sylvi to stop posting. Don't you agree?
-
Is the above "fact" enough for your "track record"? PS: I hope the moderators will not delete my posts, as I was merely responding to sylvi's accusation that I may not have 'facts' to comment on his 'track record'. That said I understand that the posts maybe OT from lakshan20's question, but it will help him be aware of people who are trying to trick him into making a bad decision in his automotive purchase.

Why do you need to replace a van that was bought brand new just 3 years ago?? Wouldn't that mean that the Maruti won't last more than a few years? Wouldn't that make you a word that you claim you are not. And of course their service is very good for you, that's cos you're the fool who keeps coming back for more if their garbage. The queen once told me the following: fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. PS: I just remembered when the nano cab came out sylvi was praising it left right and center cos a friend of him bought a bunch for a taxi company. So sylvi told everyone to by a Nano. Then in a few months he came back and started saying that the nano breaks down, parts need to be replaced frequently etc etc hence its a crappy car.

Dude, I'm not going to repeat all the stupid sh!t you said over the years. But I will remind you of just 2 highlights 1. Remove fanbelt when driving in partially flooded roads 2. Use blue bulbs as your signal indicators Anyone who has 50 years of experience in the automobile industry and thinks that he should remove the fanbelt cos the rainwater will coll the engine is Stupid and is an idiot. If someone who has never owned a vehicle said it we can cut him some slack. And despite all the wealth you claim to have you buy the cheapest shittiest vehicles possible. You're like the horny-cheapo-perv who goes and screws the fugliest-pension-aunty-type-prostitute cos she she charges you the least to let you play with her hoohaa. When you bought a brand-new chinese van you were praising it so much and lied to everyone saying that it was the best vehicle and everyone should buy it. But the truth is even though it was brand new it gave you so much trouble you sold it off. Now you have a indian van and you're doing the same thing. So, i have my concerns about your integrity! As for the blue signal lights; do you think you're gods gift to the automotive industry to invent blue signal lights? There's a reason the whole world uses amber bulbs for signal indicators. That's cos ALL motorist know that if an amber bulb is blinking the vehile is going to turn in that direction. So please please, i beg you don't lie to people and put them in trouble. Lakchan20, may not be a millionaire like you claim yourself to be. He might not be able to buy a brand new vehicle every 2-3 years.. So please i beg you sincerely, don't lie to people and mislead them.... please....

Whoever said that i'm a nice person lied! See sylvi, we don't have a problem with you as a person. It's just your not-so-intelligent answers/ideas and your hypocrisy that we find laughable. But we're like that to everyone, not just you. We love you :*

This sylvi is the kind of stupid stuff you say that gets you the "track record" I was talking about the other day. edit: The moderators are trying to put down the voice of the little man and is supporting the person who i beleive allegedly claims to have 50 years of experience. Hence all my posts have been banished to the post-whore thread. This is evil i tell you evil! I believe Mods shouldnt play favorites and support sylvi so much!

Ohh no! What happened to your carrier? Well, most of us here help people if/when we can. But we dont stalk them or tell them to come over to our houses or anything. ANd mostly, we don't count how many people we help. It's as sad as counting how many times you've had sex. Anyway i was too late and missed the link you posted. Anyway, don't take things so seriously. Relax. And don't give advise or history lessons if it's not asked for. Regards Watchman
-
You have been giving a fair bit of bad advise, asking people to do dangerous/unconventional things and at times been impractical, dispite constantly boasting your 50 years of experience from all over the world. Hence, whatever you say, we take with a pinch of salt.

unfortunately not everyone can afford to loose out a inch or 2 of condom length in a knot. The regular length is barely sufficient, if you know what I mean

I'm with MD on the livery. The white base was becoming too mundane..

I dont wanna disappoint you or make you feel left out. If rehanaA knew how to do a simple search for "carm**t" she would have found the answer to what she was looking for. Afterall "pro" members use the same search that non-pros use.
-
I'm not bugging you or anything, but sylvi, do you genuinely honestly believe that your post has added any value to resolving the OP's problem?
-
Condom's a man-made. Can they be repairs too if they are ripped or have a leak?
-
Ahh... So you're a woman. That explains a lot
-
Ain't my fault if you don't know how to search for what you're looking for
-
Actually it's nothing like that. Had I heard of a Mr. Wijesinghe who works as an telecommunications engineer working at AT&T, my first impression of the person would be 'wow, must be smart and capable'. But what we heard was "relative of sylvi, who's trying to set up shop fixing something that he's not an expert in, and even the experts in the field don't know how to fix". Sadly due to your track record, any person, business or product that you (sylvi) endorse is looked at with skepticism. So in fact you'll be doing the person, business, product a greater favour by NOT talking about it. I hope that clears out any doubts you had. Love and Regards, Watchman PS: Sylvi, you've been mistaking this terminology for quite a while now... it's called a 1st world country. Not a 1st class country.
