Unless you saw the phone come out the factory you shouldn't believe its a real S4. Hell, whoever is making this phone is breaking a ton of interlectual property laws and what not, do you think they give 2 fks about printing the TRUTH on the label??? PS: I can probably get some Chinese phone maker to make me a fake iPhone5 and on the label say "First iPhone 5 built by Apple, Steve Jobs kissed it goodbye before packing it and shipping it to Sri Lanka". It's on the label, HAS to be true right?

If it indeed IS the OP's car and has been clocked backwards I think AL may also have have a certain liability for the misrepresentation of a product sold. I AM curious to see AL's action on this. If I were AL; I would tell the owner that there is evidence of fraud (which would have to be supplied by the OP) and take down the advert (and not refund the money just to teach a lesson). AL may loose business from a few crooks, but would gain the overall trust of the car buyer as a classified that can be trusted. And in a world with 'quick' classifieds with fake adds and sunday papers flooded by brokers, it will certainly help AL on the long run. Over to you Admin (and Mr. Joint Modarators)

This sounds like one of those 'seasonal laws'... As long as you dont drive like a d!ck red-lining on low gears you should be OK.

I once went to Unity Plaze looking for Office 2010. Couldn't find it anywhere... But you CAN get it. Talk to the guy and if u look legit he will ask you to come back in 15 mins and burn a copy onto a DVD/CD.

The car's awesome goes without saying. But I love your house and neighborhood too!

Fiat Fan has a S3 (or a fake S3) and that photo is def not a S3. The S3's camera flash and speaker are all on the same horizontal level. This photo should be a S4

Have you tried downloading it through bit-torrent or something? The internet of full of pirates stealing from the rich man and giving it to the poor man

It's a potential Wheeler Dealer Sri Lanka series (or at least a segment for MoTorque)

makes me think that taking a couple of weeks off work and going touring around rural areas in sri lanka might yield a whole bunch of cars that can be flipped for a few folds their price in Colombo. Though as a buyer you probably should have acted cool and uninterested a bit more.. the seller probably smelled your desperation too PS: From making cardboard cars to real cars, you've come a long way

Yes, but then you run the risk of currency fluctuations tax structures changing overnight and what not. I don't think one is better than the other when it comes to direct import Vs. buying from a sale. So its up to the buyer on what his priorities are when buying a vehicle.

Dude... 850,000? Seriously? Either you're fully loaded and money'd not a problem or you were taken for a ride.

Contrary to what the video title says no-one died in the accident. And frankly those bikers taunted the RR driver and caused this. That biker didn't need to brake-test the RR. And from the video its clear that the RR stopped right after the accident and didnt step on the gas until a while later (at which point the bikers started getting aggressive). And considering what the jacka$$es on bikes end up doing I see it justifiable. And on a more humorous note, I bet running over those bikes is probably the most off-roading that RR would ever see.

Historic Images Of Old Ceylon - Automotive And Otherwise
Watchman replied to Sampath Gunasekera's topic in The Lounge
Though it has nothing automotive, it really is awesome how a thread like this (or FB) can help share with the world those priceless images, documents etc All this amazing bits of history would otherwise be sitting in someone's cupboard till they decayed away and were lost forever. -
Depends on your priorities and preferences. If your phone spends its entire life sitting on a desk or in your pocket, then a cover might be redundant. But In my case I have it in my hand when i go for runs/jogs, and the rubbery grip prevents it from slipping out of my sweaty grip. And when I cycle I have it in my jersey pocket (which is on the back) and it could easily slip out of your hand when grabbing for it. So a nice thick cover helps. This is what I use. I would recommend it for anyone who uses their phone in outdoor activities as well as anyone who is clumsy : http://www.ebay.com/itm/221228479579?var=520145686977&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

My bad... I use a S3, not a S4.
-
Please revert back to your 3310, I believe it better suits your level of intellect. In addition it seems to be more appropriate for kind of physical use. And have fun playing snake!
-
I think its the user that's the problem and not the phone itself. I have been using a S4 S3 for about a year or more with none of the issues you mentioned. Scratches and paint chipping off is subjective based on your own usage. I have a simple 50 ent (USD) screen protector on mine cos I just didn't wanna challenge samsung on how scratch resistant their screens are (at my cost). As for the back case and the rest of the phone I also use a cover so I havent had any scratches etc. As for the battery life Like peri said you probably had bad phone charging habits/routines; and in addition you might have stuff running in the background. If you want more battery life get one of those recharging packs which you can keep in your bag. Or if you're on the move, turn off mobile data. Without it my phone can last around 2+ days (while making phone calls and sending SMSs).

Ai ekak!?! Mirikanna-ko dekak!

Honestly I prefer this thread going deeper into knightowl's exes rather than hybrids...don't you? Some photos might be helpful too <hint hint>
-
I agree with your statement on the biased sample. Nightowl should go out and hook up with some random BBWs to even out the sample.. And the AL brotherhood wont rat you out to your wife. So your secret's safe with us; and whoever else has an internet connection.. But that's a slim chance. When was the last time you heard of something on the internet getting a lot of publicity.

Dude, its not the lack of laws that's a problem in this country. It's the enforcement that's a problem. Forget a simple odo-mete tampering.. Even laws regarding murder are enforced based on the suspect and victim. So do you really expect justice for these minor issues? In fact, the current (slightly vague) law saying "you cannot modify a vehicle without the written permission of the commissioner of motor vehicles" can be applied for this if the enforcement officials care to. Which is why I believe community should regulate and watch out for itself. You see a fraud or cheat, shout out loud so that everyone hears it, rather than write a letter to the consumer affairs commission or whatever.
-
If you have photographic proof of the before and after and the vehicle itself I would think it would be social justice to share this information with the general public. Defame such sellers/vehicles such that others too learn from it.

The Great Debate - Rice Or Spice? Or Both? Or Neither?
Watchman replied to Blitz's topic in General Automotive
What the hell man!! I just put the pop-corn in the microwave expecting to see some massive drama, and you guys kiss and make up...what the hall man! What the hell!!! Now i'm jusy going to throw away all that good pop-corn.. wasted electricity heating it also.. chik witharak... -
Dude, you dont have to argue with or justify a joke!!! PS: I do find a flaw in your logic though; You're presuming that all humans are legally allowed to drive and are the same height their entire life
