Machan maybe 2 of those are Evo IIs. Isn't that the Evo IV in the picture?

    Evolution 1-3

Some time ago, here on AL, Dimantha listed all the known Evos in SL. I don't remember any Evo Is or IIs on it. However since then, a few Evo IIs have made their way into the country, either as halves or as conversions.
  3. Nice car bra. A buddy of mine in California picked up an '07 Accord yesterday as well.
  4. You're mistaken, Arc Angel. Stand at a vantage point on each stage and you'll see 30 cars driving balls-to-the-wall each time, and you'll gain a finer appreciation for what some of these guys are capable of. It will be spectacular, no doubt, and definitely worth going for, even for one day.
  5. "Close to 30", hahahahaha.
  6. Apparently its just the doors. Booya.
  7. I just wish Nishan would commit to a full season of SL GT, including all the mass start events, both dirt and sealed surface.
  8. The rally is to be held on November 15, 16, 17 & 18, mainly in Galle, but the start/finish and maybe a competitive stage or two will be held in CMB. Anyway, this is a different type of rallying to what Gaya and the guys had on Sunday. While those events, known as TSD Rallying, focus on accurate navigation and feature lower speeds, the rally in Galle will be similar to the WRC, with flat-out closed courses where the winners will be judged on outright pace. This type of rallying will be good for cars like your Evo, which is why I'm encouraging you to run. By the way, what colour is your car? I go towards Attidiya quite often but haven't seen it.
  9. Seriously GFX, you should run this rally. It may even get candidate status for the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship and is going to be phenomenal. The official title will be Rally Sri Lanka 2007, and all the clubs will be contributing. So what do you say? Will you run your Evo? You don't even need a full SLAS license, just an over-the-counter permit that costs Rs. 2,000. As for Sunday's rally being slow, once we (and many others) got lost, it was balls-to-the-wall trying to make time up so maybe you should have brought your Lancer Evo III because you would have definitely made up time a lot faster.
  10. Well one is being built here currently, so that would be #4. I also heard of another IX being in CMB yesterday so maybe thats #5.
  11. Drake can we expect a karting revival in 2008 at places like BMICH etc?
  12. Sounds good Gaya. Although this was a really fun event overall, the route was still tricky and made things quite competitive. You, Tyrell and the rest of the team did an awesome job of plotting this and I look forward to the next one.
  13. Apparently they were supposed to bring some Evo 8s that ran last year's APRC. These cars aren't doing much because some of the top Indian competitors have moved onto the Evo IX but since these cars are built to Grp N, they decided against it. But like slt says, there apparently aren't many there.
  14. Dimantha, the Indians all pulled out because their cars were in Grp N trim and therefore obviously much slower. I think this was discussed earlier in the thread.
  15. Notice how because this is an FIA-sanctioned event, all the boys are running their cars as neatly as possible, with lights, bumpers etc all intact? They look great this way.
  16. Nice pics GC. Please post more if you have any. I believe that last picture was taken on the main straight, with the downhill braking zone, where Rizivi went off. Apparently they were topping out at just under 200 km/h because of the Grp. A restrictors. I think I saw somewhere that Reyaz had set a fastest time of 1:12 in one race and that's comparable to a good time set by the Formula Swift/LGB cars, which is either disappointing for the GT cars, or high praise for the 1300cc LGB cars.
  17. Great, they can call is 4 Fast 4 Furious. Interestingly, a guy I know is building an RX7 here with a fibreglass kit like the one from the FD in Tokyo Drift. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but it seems to be coming along well.
  18. http://www.deccanherald.com/Content/Aug262...07082621459.asp The Deccan Herald has details on Satuday's events. Apparently Reyaz had set the fastest lap in Saturday's race. Pimp Status.
  19. The Hindu is carrying a story about the meet, but without much info on our boys. They haven't mentioned Saturday's race and have only listed the two races from Sunday, both of which were won by Reyaz. http://www.hindu.com/2007/08/27/stories/2007082761042000.htm slt, the Indians who were scheduled to run with our guys had bailed apparently, claiming that their cars weren't upto spec. Well they were only Group N cars to begin with, so they would have been well off the pace had they run.
  20. Reyaz won Race 2 as well apparently.
  21. slt2005 those are the results of Race 2, this morning. DJ won Race 1 yesterday, followed by AP. This is when Rizvi crashed.
  22. Good job Dilantha. He beat some ex-F1, V8 Supercar and sportscar veterans to the pole at Sepang. http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?fil...&sec=sports Unconfirmed reports from Coimbatore indicate that at least 2 of our guys have suffered terminal mechanical issues already, one car was late to arrive because the truck carrying it broke down on the way and apparently it is raining heavily. All the best to the boys though. I was told that this meet was being shown live on Ten Sports, because it is also a big regional meet but I'm not sure if this'll happen.
  23. Good stuff. You'll definitely enjoy it more.
  24. Anyone? I'd like to know as well. How much will a 1,000 CC 2 Door cost, number immaterial?
  25. Lakshika would have had a hard time catching the guy who took pole from her by 1.5 seconds, but he didn't show up on race day.
