  1. Spot on KLM, the area is ideal for some weekend fun, so we're thinking of pooling in and buying a prokart or two. Got any details where I should start looking? There's nothing there but an empty track on normal days.
  2. It's near Palawatta, near the Budadhasa stadium, it's where we've been having the Modifest, time attack and so many more events. You've been outta the country way too long.
  3. Any one know where I can buy a 4 stroke Pro kart, an entry level one? New or re-con, and what sort of price am I looking at?
  4. This might sound like a dum question.. but are you sure it's a 4wd?
  5. Yes Pila, my source also told that the manfuacturere cannon be specified. Do you have address/contact numbers of these places? Peri: if I'm not mistaken even Micro is BOI approved, no restrictions about the market.
  6. Gihan, got more details about this Negambo one you're talking about? Do they do Evos or Rexs?
  7. Got to know that BOI has given approval to a plant in Minuwangoda area to assemble complete vehicles from parts and sell them as locally assembled vehicles, and that they can be registered too. The person who told me this said a Carina can be bought for 1.2 and a Montero for 3 Mil. But when asked about sold information, he didn't have any. Is this just another lie? Or is there any truth in it? He also said that the car market has come down becuase of this... It's hard to believe.. But any one else heard of this?
  8. Otherway round, they cut the VIN part off the old chassis and weld it to the new chassis
  9. As you have mentioned the permit is only valid for the body. But they actually end up fixing the complete new chassis with the old number part from the old vehicle. Even though it might sound illiegal at first, in a court of law it can be argued otherwise. There is no restriction for you to repair the chassis as long as it is kept to the same spec as the orginal reg docs, and there's no such thing called a chassis permit. So you can get part from a new chassis and fix your old one up. One can argue the ONLY part that could be rescued from the old chassis is the part with the chassis no. This scenario is known as 'Theseus paradox', coming from greeek history or something (refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_of_Theseus this will help you understand it). So if the body permit docs are in order and the vehicle has been inspected and certified by RMV after fixing it up, you should be safe. Our corporate lawyer owns one of these jeeps, and he explained to me the whole legal scenario I mentioned above. Also don't be scared of cops who try to question you, they have no right to do anything until it is proven in court that the vehicle is not legit.
  10. $320 or Rs 32000 might sound a lot for us here in SL, but in US even working at a fast food joint, part time you can earn that within a week. But we in SL pay Rs 10000 for a 3M tint, which is more than a monthly salary of a fast food joint full timer. Bro, what you spend in US is peanuts, compared to the thumping amounts we have to spend to do the same thing! One more example, I spent 5 Mil ($50,000) to get a 5 year old 320D and for that money, you bought an even newer M3!
  11. Rexton Spec http://www.smotor.com/en/showroom/rexton2/specification.jsp Kyron Spec http://www.smotor.com/en/showroom/kyron/specification.jsp
  12. That makes it two VTEC minis.
  13. LakshanK, don't you have someone in the family who works for landrover UK? Maybe he can shed some light to this
  14. Sony agents are Siedles, but not sure if they deal in laptops too. They have a showroom in Liberty Plaza. It's worthwhile going and asking them.
  15. Kris with a CTR? One we haven't seen?
  16. Is this the white automatic car? If it is, that is a IS200 - with the normal engine, not the Yamaha Beams engine. Price was a bit too much the last time I heard of it.
  17. Check the connection pins of the battery to see if it is loose. I had this problem a long time back and I soldered the battery with a bit of lead and a piece of wire.
  18. The day they build the Nissan-Mahendra, our hardcore Nissan fan Pericles is going to stop being a Nissan fan
  19. I've tried Brasso on clear headlamp lenses and it works. I didn't post this earlier thinking it will be too harsh on the interior plastics.
  20. Check the BMW forums everywhere, almost everyone is complaining. Also in SL we pay twice what you have paid for the 330Ci to get a 320D! What a shame. PS: So every Honda owners dream is to buy a BMW someday. LOL
  21. Admin menna mada gahanawo!!!
  22. Atleast it's not one of those numerous Indian and Chinese brands. It's Italian and made in a factory close to where they build Ferraris and Alfas and it's got true Italian flavour....
  23. May I suggest my solution for overcoming traffic problems? True it is a big gap from the BMW, but it's fun in its own way.

    Helmets

He's making fun of my scooter helmet. BTW I don't wear a helmet in the car. For a navigator I'd suggest a simple UPCo helmet without face cover

    Helmets

Prices start around 850 for half helmets and go all the way upto about 5000 for a full face helmet of highest quality. Most are local or Chinese made.
