  1. Stall looked Great MADZ, although the show itself left a lot to be desired...... congrats on a job well done
  2. Will certainly be attempting it then!!
  3. Nice new babe miniace!! Eg's have always looked best in black or white IMO and yours looks great too terabite...
  4. I'd like a copy of the CD as well please.... and perhaps i could have the camera back sometime too?
  5. do you gents think an Old, bog standard Toyota Hilux 4x4 can tackle these courses? am totally new to the off roading scene, but would like to try my hand nonetheless!
  6. They ARE really great pics Even more impressive when you know that this was the photographer's very first extended usage of a digital camera!!
  7. Funny, I know of several turbo diesels that have passed that mark and are still running fine without major work.... such as anything that has the toyota 1KZT engine.
  8. Belated wishes memphis bro.... hope you had a great one!!!
  9. An oldie with magnesium wheels sounds very interesting pradfred.... care to drop a hint or two?
  10. The Wiki article is a good start, but they do tend to focus more on the US Market versions, which are somewhat different to JDM specs... This link too should give you an idea of the differences http://specs.amayama.com/honda/civic_ferio/1998_9/ EDIT: above is for the EK series, heres the page with the entire list of models http://specs.amayama.com/honda/civic_ferio/
  11. Again, that viewpoint is mainly due to the perception that BMWs are incredibly complex machines..... This is very true for the bigger models, and even the 3 series from the late 90s onwards (E46), but the earlier cars are comparatively much simpler, and can be looked after by a competent mechanic... besides, there are a couple of good BMW specialists around town who can provide excellent service. almost ANY agent will charge high prices, that's how they make their money.... from people who don't know any better!
  12. I don't think we can complain about some families getting 2 permits dude.... if there are two people in the family who qualify, then thats all right... they HAVE worked for the privilege after all... But this is just patently illegal, does anyone know if a complaint can be made?
  13. Its a commonly held misconception among the sri lankan car buying public that BMWs drink fuel... was just having this conversation with my dad this weekend, and he was insisting that BMW's are extremely thirsty, which is patently NOT the case... The 1.6 and 1.8L cars (316i and 318i) with the manual gearboxes are the best choices for economy, both of these are fully capable of returning 8-10 KM/l in town driving. Heck even the 2.0L 6 cylinder Manual car will return 6 ish in town (Dominic can confirm)
  14. honestly, do you not READ posts?
  15. if you have a mazda and you were at the event (if you took part in it), i don't see how you could not have enjoyed it to be honest.... i'm not a mazda owner, i was there and i thought it was a great job done by the MFOC guys. The slight lack of cars was not their fault, if you had been observing these threads prior to the event you would have seen just how much effort people put in.... Once you organize a massive car event that is the envy of all and sundry and his hailed by the media and the car community as the greatest thing ever, then you can come here and mouth off.... until then, to quote Pradfred, Put up or Shut up!
  16. thats a pretty dumb attitude to have to be honest (no offense) the asking price of a car in the SL market depends on market perception, which is a very volatile thing...for example, just because corollas have the highest market values that doesn't mean they are the best cars at all!! as for the presea, it has always been basically a Sunny with a different body and posher trim... the First gen cars (Based on the B13 "Doctor Sunny") were pretty nice machines, with (my opinion) great styling and very nice trimmings.... The 2nd gen car was far more boring in style, it became just another generic jap box... but mechanically it's very similar to the FB15.. as for fuel consumption, perhaps the car weighs a tad bit more than the sunny therefore it's less economical?
  17. once again I smell Kotte Fish here
  18. yep... drop me a mail sometime - [email protected], would like to discuss your "Junkyard Jewels" list with you if that's ok....
  19. well you could perhaps get yourself an R34 GTR in the meantime
  20. well, the camaro IS primarily aimed at the 'stang and the Dodge Challenger, so the pricing would most likely reflect that... when i stated the 25k Figure i omitted to add i meant that would be the base price for the V6, sorry. Based on the prices of the challenger, the Full house camaro should be in the 35-40k league, It's slightly more sophisticated than the mustang, for example, 4 wheel independent suspension as opposed to the Live rear axle on the 'stang, but it'll be playing for the same customers, just like the 60's originals. And of course they won't really stand close comparison to something like a 350Z, hopefully they will stack up better than their 90's predecessors did to cars like the Supra or the 300ZX, but they still wont be quite as good... like you mentioned, they're going to be bought for "other reasons"... and they probably will still sell by the skipload!
  21. Im with you on the point you make... but you see, the Camaro (and it's competitor the Mustang) play in a significantly lower price bracket than say, for example the Merc CLK Black edition... the camaro will probably start at around 25,000 USD... wheras the merc is at least 3 times that figure... Americans always focus on keeping costs down as well as "Keepin' it simple" @ peri.. you have a point about DOD, but what i really meant was simplicity in other aspects like for example the fact that the LS Motors STILL use Overhead Valves and 2 Valves Per Cylinder... all in the name of keeping it cheap.
  22. The thing with american engines and their relative lack of ponies when compared to euros is basically due to cost cutting and simplicity.... while the euros load up Motors with Titanium this, Unobtanium that, 9000Rpm redlines and whatnot which generally leads to them needing specialized care and kid-glove treatment, american powertrain people often focus on making engines can go on for hundreds of thousands of miles on a comparatively much lower level of maintanance. US focus is always more on simplicity, which is why they go with large unstressed engines as often as possible.
  23. ahhh.... kindred spirit! which one are you refferring to? the one in the paper?
  24. Many congrats gummy.... best of luck with her would you mind sharing some details about the operation? im sure a lot of people here are going to be interested.... and how does the car feel overall?
  25. you're welcome.. I assume you're searching for a full-house AE86?
