My car is used every day, and in the year I have owned it it's covered nearly 12,000KM. Every single one of those KMs was a lot of fun but I certainly had to deal with plenty of issues along the way. Not saying that I regret it for one moment, just that it's nowhere near as trouble free as a similar age Toyota would have been. And while I personally Love the thing, I wouldn't go around recommending it to every Tom, Dick and Harry like you do. Also, how can you be certain what mileage the engine has done? What if the other components within the engine are worn out? Better the devil you know, I always say. At least with his own engine, once the OP spends the rebuild/repair money he knows the problem is solved for sure.
