  1. Usually a set of Genuine shocks can be considered to last between 50-75,000KM. The large variation in distance is because a variety of factors such as road conditions, driving habits, weight that the car carries etc affect the lifetime of the shocks. 9k sounds about right based on current prices. But make sure you check that they are Genuine parts. For what it's worth, call up the agents and ask what the cost is as well.
  2. How refreshing to finally see someone who's looking to buy something interesting for a change! I salute you sir! In response to your question, things that I would suggest (in no particular order) Alfa Romeo 33 (you can find an excellent example well within your budget with cash to spare!) Alfa Romeo 155 (might have to stretch a little bit but still doable) Austin/Morris 1100 Ford Escort Mk1 (Get the two door) Honda CRX First Generation (Absolute blast to drive but ultra rare) Mazda RX7 First generation (Loads of fun if you can find one with the Rotary intact) Mazda Astina (Reliable, good looking and fun to drive) Volvo 340 (Rear Transaxle means ideal weight distribution and therefore hooning potential) Volvo 740/940 (Big, comfy, safe and cheap with buckets of character!) Mercedes W114/115 (The good old "box" mercs. Staid but characterful... And if you find a W114 Six cylinder, you'll have a nice engine as well) Mercedes W116 280S (Proper Panzerwagen...There's one in nice nick for sale right now just past boralesgamuwa) A Mini (obvious choice) Beetle 1303 Here are some links on AL Ford escort 1300GT (Upgraded to Mexico spec apart from the motor) http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=52013 I used to own this very car, before all the mods. Mini Clubman http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=52576 Morris 1100 http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=51572

  5. Haha.. I was actually about to ask you for a clue when something clicked ... You were right, this pic does show off the unique Peugeot design language of that era. Anyway, I declare the floor open...

  7. pug 605?
  8. Nope he's talking about a Mk1 convertible that was advertised on AL at one point for "2.5 Million, No offers" Apparently 1.6 Million is a price to be "Jealous" of for some reason.
  9. Maybe try pressing it again.
  10. Err, and your point is....?
  11. And This attitude, ladies and gentleman is EXACTLY why Autolanka has become so very dull lately...
  12. He's the one that I know of and use.. Unlike the other Euro brands it appears that there aren't too many people who want to try their hand at fixing VAG products. Personal experience is that it's always better to go to someone who knows what they are doing when it comes to these cars because otherwise they can quickly drive you nuts...
  13. There's a VW/Audi specialist in the werahera area who can do all you need. You should probably get them to give you a full inspection report so that you know what to do. Vishwa Motors - 0773099281 Ruwan.
  14. To add a small point to your reply; the majority of us here hate not only the hype but also the smug "I am smarter than you" attitude of most of our resident hybrid champions, yourself included.
  15. Many happy returns of the day to our resident Pug guru! Hope you have an awesome one machan!
  16. Congrats on the buy, hope you got it checked out before you bought it. Speaking from experience, a VW/Audi that has been screwed around with by Maka Baases who don't know what they are doing can turn into a proper money pit!
  17. Now THAT, is for Damn certain! Don't worry mate, We won't.
  18. Its sold here as the Toyota IST if i'm not mistaken.. Not available brand new, only recon and I haven't seen any with Manual Gearboxes. Price is in the 3.5-4 Mill range unregistered... Not really a good value buy IMO.
  19. Correct, take the floor.
  20. Try this one
  21. Austin Montego
  22. Dude WTF is your problem? If you want answers to your questions you'd best learn to keep a civil tongue in your head. Do you imagine the people here are getting paid to answer your stupid questions? If you want a double cab, go look at all the models available in your price range and pick the one that you like. End of story.
  23. These cars are merely in transit... heading for singapore.
  24. Err...... What might a "Premira" be?
