  1. Ford Laser?
  2. If your carina is an automatic, 7-8 KM/l is about what you can expect in the city mate.. if it's a manual (Not a GT though) then maybe 9 to 10 in city.. The fact that it's doing 15 Outstation is evidence enough that your engine is in good nick... The radiator condition MIGHT have a slight impact because the cooling of the car isnt optimal... but you cant really be certain of that. As to the wonderful figures claimed by those owners you mentioned... Well, they were trying to get their cars sold weren't they? It's not like they were going to sign a document stating that the cars would meet their fuel claims right?
  3. You've got my vote!!! Perhaps you can arrange for a special permit for all AL members when you come to power?
  4. Just to clarify mate, what I meant was that your comment (which has been highlighted in bharath's post) was not exactly a polite thing to say.... Even if it was meant as harmless banter (which it probably was), im sure you can appreciate how it might be interpreted in the wrong way...
  5. You have a solid point there XXX... Also, Guys, I know this is a pretty controversial topic considering past experience.... But dont you think we might do well to have an additional moderator? Cos sharky i know finds it difficult to log on a lot now, and dillongt kinda has a time zone related issue, so that leaves peri with all the work here... Maybe now would be a good time to nominate an extra mod, considering that AL IS rather large and getting larger...
  6. Err... dude.. I feel I have to point out at this juncture that you have only been a member here for just about three months.... and although you've certainly been posting at quite a rate, I dont think you're quite justified in telling members (most of whom have been around longer than you) to either go join another forum or "get a life" Just my 2c
  7. Heard on the grapevine recently about an LR3 that went for 13.5 Mill.... Not too surprising considering the current market conditions.
  8. With all due respect KLM, I would have to disagree with that view.... True some threads do tend to go off topic and contain quite some banter, but within reason, as Helrazor pointed out, this is what makes AL more of a friendly atmosphere than most other automotive forums. The key here is for all of us to ensure that OT drifting is kept to a minimum. As for very little of interest being up here, I suppose we all will have to make a bit more effort into posting relevant threads and so on.... That I suppose will have to be a collective effort. Incidentally, you too can contribute by putting up threads of interest more frequently machan.... once again, no offense meant.
  9. I think XXX is kidding.... (At least I HOPE he is) Btw, we are kinda miles OT here
  10. It's supposed to be quite economical as well, thanks to the light weight and the VVti engine.... Most people mention 10-11KM/l in town, which is quite good for that size of car. You might want to search for "Toyota Vios" using AL's excellent search feature btw... its been discussed in detail several times before, so there are plenty of threads with good info..

    Mazda 3

First time Im hearing of it, and we do have a couple of 3 owners on the forum.... So far nobody has reported something of this nature... Can you post up a picture of the damage so we can all see?
  12. Decent as in fulfills the purpose it was intended for without cutting too many dangerous corners... however, note that in that article, they mention that it had plenty of room for tall people, so you never know... Guess we'll just have to wait and see though
  13. CAR magazine appears to have done a far more In-depth test drive of the thing than Autocar India has, AI's piece sounded more like a paid PR announcement.... CAR does seem to honestly like it though.... although they too DO have an indian edition now, so they also may not want to risk pissing off the mighty TATA (Esp considering Jag and Land Rover). But I've generally found them to be reliable in the past. Looks like the nano is quite decent after all eh chaps?
  14. CAR Magazine Reviews TATA Nano Source: CAR Magazine
  15. Well put Helrazor... Yes, for the most part the members seem quite capable of keeping it going without too many diversions, I guess intervention is only needed if a thread goes wayyy off and keeps going with no heading back to original topic.
  16. that sounds about right... you can be certain the boys at the top wont make it easy to sell the nano, since it's going to provide competition for their... ahem "Investment"(Micro).... unless of course India does some arm-twisting, which I hope they do.
  17. LR3 is the Discovery mate... LR2 is the freelander.
  18. Dude, let's at least make a token effort here eh? Its not like we dont have a thread for going completely OT, it's called "Post Whoring", and sometimes IMO we should make more use of it.... And it isnt really entirely fair to call the Nano "Unmemorable" or "Boring" quite yet.... for one thing, Nobody here has driven it as yet, and for another, it truly IS offering a new concept in motoring. After all, they never intended to make a seat-of-the-pants driving machine here, the concept was always cheap and cheerful, and they've faithfully stuck to it. Personally I think this car will do well.
  19. Belated wishes MeanGreen.... hope you had a blast!
  20. Belated B'day wishes miniace Bro!
  21. Good Lord!!! now we've truly seen everything...
  22. shame really.... was a fab looking thing, and AudiLambo would have made sure it was both put together well AND a ball to drive..... oh well, on the bright side, that's one less thing to sigh and curse our taxation standards over....
  23. I have to admit I was looking forward to Airtel coming to SL, but that was mainly because I wanted Dialog and co to get off their high horses and give customers a good deal, instead of trying to squeeze them dry.... And they have, I doubt stuff like the blaster package would have been made available if it weren't for Airtel, the simple truth is, Dialog et al were running scared... so they gave customers the best possible deal. For that, we should be grateful to Airtel.
  24. man, you DO have some VERY strange habits!
