As for the wiring, i'd suggest to do up the wiring new, with 2 relays one for each side, with high gauge wires and casings Use good relays, either OEM Japanese headlight relays or Good brand new ones like Hella etc, also use a relay for parking lights As for the seal beams, get rid of them the first gen pajero came with a round light that was flat, not curved like the seal beams, it had a mitsubishi badge in the middle and letters halogen across etched in the glass, made by koito or stanley https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROUND-HEAD-LAMP-LIGHT-for-MITSUBISHI-PAJERO-SHOGUN-MK2-1991-1993-/380599713598 the above is very common in shops here then you have the capability to get the period correct upgrade, the bulb is H4 thereafter H4 you have the following options Stick to a warm colour, so that it looks correct with the cars vintage Standard koito bulbs or Pair of night breakers, or warm HIDs <4000K or LEDs <4000K all mounted to the H4 socket Also sand down all grounding points and re-anchor them or you make have flickering issues or dim lights, lubricate the light stalk and connectors if they are rusty.

  15. Most of the 2008 ones have crossed 100000km , so try to buy a low mileage one, fuel consumption will not go better than 7-8kmpl They are very reliable vehicles and very good off road in 4wd form. Parts are slightly expensive expect around Rs 25000- 30000 for services maintenance every 10000km roughly. I was looking for a soft roader back in 2017 and wanted to buy one, but the high mileages and ridiculous prices people quoted put me off. Prices have now come down a bit. The Toyota Rush is the identical jdm import, they came in fancy colours and have a lot more gadgets as well, making replacements even rarer. Pricing almost same. There were a lot of accident repaired vehicles, novice drivers getting permits and due to parts being expensive and rare they were bad repair jobs, so whatever car u are buying get it checked, avoid buying from a used car sale, try to get a single owner doctor or whatever permit vehicle with maintenance history atleast with mileage around 50000- 60000km from Agent or equivalent. These things are good cars and people are hesitant to sell them off unless an accident etc, in fact I know a few lecturers and professors who absolutely love the vehicle and sold the current season permits and kept the terios from 2008. Anything with extremely low mileage is too good to be true. This is not what a typical Sri Lankan will buy as a first car but definitely a very good choice, not the most economical.
  16. Met the Dunlop agents, seem the enasave tyres that come on most jdm imports recently are of low lifespan and have sidewall issues around 15-25000km whilst tread is at 80% left

They had a whole corner of Dunlop tyres with various damages on the side walls. Seems they have informed the manufacturer yet they deny a manufacturing defect and do not provide any warranty assistance, blaming that they do not cover JDM imports in SL conditions.

If I remember right, I think read in the Aqua group about as well regarding this issue.

Btw are these tyres sold in SL also?

Apparently no, the ones sold by agents here have no issues apparently and seems agents cover any given premature sidewall damage.

Is it the same model of tyre?

  17. Amen
  18. What's with the crazy pricing of old school suvs  nowadays?

1st gen Pajero crossing 3 million

70 series land cruisers at 5mil

    80 series at 8 mil

    65- prados at 8 mil

Ex ngo sahara 100s at 10mil

Crap like these prevent even an enthusiast from buying these cars!

  19. Had my second Dunlop Enasave side wall failure this year, 1st the Leaf, a sidewall blowout, now the hustler has a side wall bubble, Both were factory fitted tyres; none expired

Is it just me or anyone else with similar experiences?

Got a sidewall damage in my old car - a Honda Fit earlier this year and yes the tires were dunlop Ensaves.

  20. These guys are ranting about spot economy figures on the display, do the math over a period of atleast 1000km, you'll see it barely crosses 20kmpl atmost, whatever the kei with 92 oc or 95 oc. Colombo to Kandy its almost mostly downhill till Warakapola, the system starts throwing high fuel figures, if you note your spot display it drops to like 10-12kmpl uphill, that too the mira sorta turns off the alternator to lessen the load, turn on the lights and it further drops, i'm sure your values are without AC. Try any ISG driven Suzuki kei, in terms of weeny power and tiny fuel gains, it will rape the mira hands down. Its just a well thought out comfortable kei, not a philosphy to the world, and there is no argument where you compare a standard kei car with a mild hybrid kei and say which is more economical. also do note, all this ranting is most likely about 3000 bucks which you may save at the end of the month which will easily vanish if u break a wheel, a lug, small fender bender, tyre wall cut/ rupture, nudge a pedestrian, catch a cough / cold or diarrhea.
  21. Accidently found out the wheels in my Mitsubishi are branded enkei off the factory,

  23. Gosh tell me about it, I have had so many punctures. I never thought of it relating to the ply. More than 4 times this year. Mostly front wheels The other day I had to change a tyre in the asiri hospital car park, the bloody wheels are so heavy and a pain to Jack it up as well in formal clothing! Luckily I don't have to lift it like in the monty as it tucks in under, I even went to the extent of checking whether they had expired, Wear is not that significant, but the comfort part is there. I was going to go for a maxxis set but since my uncle is a dealer I got a decent offer.
  24. You can get the oem cleaner at the agents around 2600 lkr Cheers mate, nice chat!
  25. Yes the Kandy traffic is just unbearable now, a poor constricted road network with numerous bottlenecks, zero traffic lights and drained cops waving about! Not to rant about fuel but I just drive Kei cars in the traffic overcoming the low fuel figures partially. Have you used the Mitsubishi OEM fuel system cleaner? I Use it like every 25,000km and it improves the idle and the pull quite a lot, I must say Mitsubishi engines are quite rev happy, I have used 4dr5, 4d56, 4dr6, 4m40, 4m41! They got good grunt in the low end, the turbo makes it better in the mid rpms and higher end. Not just in the SUVs, even in the high end vans (L400 Chamonix Space Gear etc) Most people don't know the kickback function in the super select gearbox, and just baby the pedal and expect it to pull or else just go into sport mode, the owners manual says to bottom out the pedal for the gearbox to kick down and start pulling lol.
