Some Serenas are diesel converted. Like the KR42 s are Petrol chasis no, how to find if the vehicle is not original diesel ?

I have seen the same petrol van models(same shell) come with the Diesel engnie(cd20)

Yes Serena had Petrol engines and Diesel engine fitted vans originally imported from japan used vehicles.

C23 Serena had 1.6 or 2.0 L petrol engines.

Serena had 2.3 L diesel engines.

After year 2000 they had with turbo charged models also with various CC capacity engines.

I'm to buy a serena van, and want to verify whether that van is an original diesel van or a converted one. (I think it is 1994 model)

is KBNC23 for petrol and KVNC23 for Diesel?

i could be wrong but isn't vehicles registration book have those i mean if it's converted one i think in reg book it's marked as converted.
