Considering the current prices, If you are going with a Japanese one an AE100 Corolla, FB13 Sunny, Mazda Familia ( Butterfly) or Honda EG8 is within your budget, you could fit few Korean vehicles within your budget too, Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Sonata are few of them. Sorry! don't know a jack about Euro cars :)

Dude, you need to post your requirements...

Is it fuel economy? Maintenance? appearance? newer car? auto? manual? hatchback? sedan? petrol? diesel?

Pls note that you cant have it all too... so be a bit more precise...

Rio is a good car but try to get the facelift model and preferably a one imported brand new to sri lanka.

Less common cars that you can get for this budget include: Kia Picanto, ford laser BHALP, Hyundai Getz, Hyundai accent, Chery QQ, Fiat Punto, Micro Trend (hafei Lobo), Daihatsu Charade G200-series, Peugeot 406 D8, Maruti Wagon R (older version), Renault Laguna (older version), Proton Waja etc. etc...

As you can see, the possibilities are endless...

Yes dude, I'm looking for fuel economy and less maintenance car. Hatch back and sedan both types are accept and it should be petrol car. I like KIA RIO/ AE100/ indian Alto, Demio or 323 butterfly. But I have't better idea about these cars.

I like with korean cars, specially KIA RIO, But I dont know about this car. how about indian ALTO, AE100 or mazda demio/323 (old one)?

The Mazda is a good car but since you live in Galle, I think the best option is a well maintained AE100. The build quality is outstanding demonstrated about how well these cars still look nearly 20 years after they were made particularly with regards to the interior and plastics. Value condition over things like mileage on the metre, options or registration number.

When buying an old used Korean car you need to buy a mid range Korean not the bottom range cars like Accent or even Rio because to save costs they cut corners with the build quality and it starts to show over time. Mechanically they are sound but its things like the interior, suspension, noise insulation etc.
