I think you should moved down from Kandy... the high altitude is playing pandu with your brain.

Why do I feel that this car was a cut and chop car welded together and thats the reason the engine bay is missing (more like that half just got torn neatly)

The entire front clip has actually folded underneath the car, If you look at the 6th photo from the top. Probably got airborne and hit the ground at a steep rake.

Noticed. Hypothetically, if this happened, wouldn't that mess up airbag deployment in a normal car? Not on this car, does this model even have airbags? Obviously none on the drivers side with that steering.

It doesnt necessarily have to be a cut car for it to break in two. As others have mentioned the car seems to have landed on its front after running off the road which ended up breaking the car in two

No idea if this model came with such, but in this instance I believe a properly equipped car would indeed have deployed its airbags. The impact had to have been substantial to cause that much damage, no doubt beyond the force required to trigger the air bag sensor. In my car I can see the sensors on either side of the engine bay, slightly ahead of the engine itself. Therefore if my car crashed in a similar manner I'm 100% positive the bags would've deployed.

Now if they would have been of any use is another matter entirely.

Well, considering the sheer number of people who used the E01 over the holidays, and inclement weather, I'd say our chaps are great drivers to have only a limited number of crashed cars. This without going in to much details can be deduced that bad tyres, higher then ideal speed(??) and less then ideal weather caused the crash, not necessarily driver fault.

Always look on the bright side... :)

The driver of course will have nightmares for years to come... :)

Its got a beat barrel and shift light on the speedo

Probably one of the "ricer" morons

Machan I think you've mistaken one of his indicators for a shift light. See? he bezels broken off and the bulb and the lens are all thats there

beside in railway crossing accident in kurana area in Negambo was also torn part.

Ok mr. pedantic let me rephrase that. It was probably the 1st vehicle to get torn in half in a high speed single vehicle accident. Now go and watch some of that crash porn you like on wrecked exotics.

Its really hard to tell. Sometimes the airbags might not go off even in a big accident because even though the damage is high the car crumples gently enough not to exert too much force as to activate the sensors. like for instance if you crash into bank of soil or sand

I dont think this particular car came with an air bag. But even if it did i suppose the bag wont deploy if the the car skidded and hit the ramp sideways given the fact that this is an old car without many electronic gadgets to measure the G forces; but should have deployed if it was a face first collusion though.

Ahhhh yes i think i have made a boo boo there, you must be correct :)

The CB3/8 sold in Japan and Asia didn't sadly have air bags. The air bags would have probably deployed had they been there because the first collision was with the side railing (causing the air bags to deploy) and then the car would have toppled destroying the front end.

What's the condition of the driver? Seems like he must have been seriously injured.

Didn't hear about driver's condition. Only knew that no body was killed. Obviously should be serious
