if this is the way that we're treating to people, specially for a person who seek for an old car due to financial issues.we everybody have dreams in different scales.

So this is certainly beyond humanity.

exactly. even I was in the same situation some time back though didn't post it here asking advices.

When I bought my first car, my budget was 1/2 of the OPs :) And I did night shifts while studying to save up the money.

But perhaps the guy who posted that silly comment had good intentions of some sort as he did not give any reason why suggested it and we've all assumed he was trying to dismiss the OP.

What i meant was to save money and go for a better one. For people like JDNET you can go do yourself.

Hey thanks for the lovely PM. It's very manly of you. Do you carry your ovaries in a wheel barrow? BTW the next time you decide to PM me filth, I'll be sure to stick a bar of soap in that dirty mouth of yours. Now lets keep our wonderful conversation in the PMs since the goal in this thread is to find OP a vehicle for 11 lakhs. Will be looking forward to your fan mail.

Oh whats going on here.. whats this act...a good topic is spoiled.

Coming back to topic, Would like to suggest the good name Honda EG8. An average unmolested car is a drivers dream car at 1.1mil or a little less. Sure OP will enjoy.

Absolutely mate!. I was in a similar situation about 2ys back and got hold of an Eg for 8.25. Now ive enough funds for an upgrade, but cant even think of letting her go. As miniace said try to find a unmolested one with clean interior .

Hi All,

Can you guys give your views for followings on Hyundai Accent (YOM 2000 or 2001 model) as well ?

Fuel consumption ?

Roughly Maintenance cost per year ?

Availability of spare parts ?

Comfortableness ?

2nd hand market ?

Anything that i missed here ? :)

because that car's prices also within my budget (11laks).

Thanks

Roshan

I said that was what I would buy. Some of us pick our cars by somewhat different criteria than the average sheep.

I had already previously suggested the appropriate course of action for the OP.

You really do need to pay more attention,

you really need to cool down.. :) .. and that is why i am aksing you.....

the car looks great....but there will be a day when we may need to do a repair right?? if you had bought it what will you do...

are there any alfa experts as in BMW and VW.

If you know how to hold the spanner it won't be hard to do most of the small things at home,

And it won't cost an arm or an leg for parts till e-bay is around,

I have some experience using VWs and it is easy to maintain and parts are cheaper than jap some models.

But don't know about an alfa, well as some one said should have, a huge set of ------ to buy an alfa as the 1st car,

But believe me, when comparing with the Indian sh*t it's worth even having hydrocele :D

I'm not an expert but this is what i can tell you.

1) 10-12kmpl in the city in a manual, and unlike the maruti will not decrease significantly if you'r mates are traveling with you(better to go for a manual hyundai)

2)Depends on how much you run, and the conditon of the car. the services will take up less than 4L of oil and around Rs.1000 for filters.

If you chose a well maintained one with low mileage you won't be in for big repairs and if they occur they will be cheap.

3)Spare parts are freely available at the agents and a lot other places.

4)comfortability, well don't expect much from a 11lack car, but if you put a set of well padded seat covers specialy the rear passengers wouldn't complain.

5)2nd hand - Well have you heard the song about an strange island of the shape of a mango :D

Anything it's better than a maruti and it will definitely last longer.

A maruti will be completely finished when it ages to 10yrs, That means if the hyundai lasts 20 yrs(which will last a lot more) it will outlast a brand new maruti bought today.

And who exactly are you to tell me to cool down? Last time I checked the moderator on this forum was Pericles.

Anyway, in answer to the question, yes there IS an Alfa specialist in SL... Has been for a long time actually. Based in rajagiriya, they specialize in all Italian cars.

Roshan, though you will get a newer car, my advice is to stay away from the older accent. The problem is this was Hyundai's budget offering and they cut corners to keep the price down. The engine is probably ok, but the interior even when these cars were first imported to SL used to shake like a "pathola massa". Not very well put together. If you go for a Korean car you need to go for something like the Getz, Elantra etc. Ride one and see for yourself. But apart from the interior I think the Engine etc is probably ok.

But personally I'd go for something like this

http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=80907

or the mazda equivelant BG3P (1300cc) or even better BG5P (1500cc) save a bit of money and get a better car in a couple of years. These are good cars, well put together and you will notice that most are still in reasonable nick 20 years after :)

Hi All,

Iam planing to buy a used car (this will be my first vehicle :) ) and my budget is around 11 laks. As per my understanding only car i can buy for that value is Maruti 800 or Tata Indica. I prefer Tata Indica over maruti 800 since it has more space and it looks nice but i know its not so economical compare to maruti 800.

Appreciate if you guys can give your views and recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

Roshan.

Japanese recon car is much better option for you do not try indian or korean cars. AE 100 , FB 13 if you need english mumber car you can go for a daihatsu mira..

mate i'm also in the same boat as i'm also looking for my 1st car in the same price range. I think Dihatsu Mira can be bought for this price and would be better than Maruti or Indica. On the other hand DIhatsu Mira is the base model for Kelisa and Viva.

Yes this is good alternative... and what about alto..

After more than 1.5 years you have thought about this crazy idea and advising him? Really funny :speechless-smiley-006:

No. This is not for him but for others who look and search at AL. Lots of people look and read the threads and learn more and more. My reply may not useful for him though. If this reply's are only for him, why don't we close the old threads ?. Sorry If I did something wrong.
