Govt Sevents Permit Are Now Transferable

The Inland Revenue dept could now track down those who use black money to purchase ;)/> I wonder if it is compulsory to transfer?

was also thinking the same, but make it compulsory isn't practical i guess, because still people can drive under the original owners name, and insurance firms allow insuring, claiming of the vehicle under users name.)not under registered owner).

Have a two wheeler under that type insurance for several years,

so think this compulsory thing will not work.

This basically reduces the risk factor on the buyer and seller. It may also reduce or diminish the profit margins of permit brokers (whos business model was based on mastering the loop holes of the system). Although the government cannot force the transfer to be compulsory, they can always force the insurance companies to not insure permit vehicles for anyone other than the permit holder. This may add a risk on the buyer and may force a few buyers to legally transfer the vehicle

I meant to catch the guys BUYING the permits. If the car is on the permit holders name the new owner has officially (in the eyes of the Tax dept.) not spent any money and can stay so for 3 years (?) and sell it without any record. But if some or a majority of buyers purchase it with undeclared money, (which there is a good possibility) then this suddenly gives a new list of people that the Tax dept can go after and collect the much needed revenue.

Heard that DMV / RMV is not yet transferring new permit cars. Apparently they have not (yet) received the circular from the relevant ministry!

If anyone here has a different experience, please let us know. Also, what is the transfer fee (not the regular DMV / RMV fee, but the additional “payment” to buy a new permit car?)

Thank you

I'm not surprised it passed, they have enough ignorant baboons in there who will say anything the leadership says in order to keep their perks. But I am surprised that it was so quick. I mean, this still is a govt function, they don't do anything quickly. Except falling over themselves to brown-nose up the chain.

rich becomes richer and poor either be on the same state or be poorer. true story in this country. the high net worth buy it from the permit holders (not relating the Ministers and MPs permits). they earn a couple of millions and do the same as a business for long. the guy who got the permit gets it only once in 5 years. they earn a million lets say. they spend it on their house or wedding. but the rich, they get the thing done as a business. ultimately the rich becomes richer and the poor is on the same state forever

That's how the capitalism works and it is a a global phenomena

I do not complain about the capitalist system because socialist states are unfair at most times, there will be lot of problems. but this country, which calls itself a Democratic SOCIALIST Republic, should give some sort of consideration when it comes to exploitation, taxing the masses and offering tax free for the more affluent. it should be a system you become rich on the factor how hard you work, how productive you are in term of economy and so on. what happens here is that the big bosses have the legs crossed and earn quick bucks and the hard working mass is working like a dog for them with little money at the end of the month and some probably take loans to finance their family needs

Sad to see majority of those government servants who are not eligible for a permit.. GOSL can satisfy only the top layer in government sector, (without giving a considerable salary increase to the government sector as a whole..) Say a person with a permit... 1 million savings in each 5 years ( Most of them of course having bit low salary standards compared to private sector ) But very little number in private sector can hardly get a saving that much...

It is very important to know and appreciate the value of the service of the top layer... They might become handy in some critical moments like elections etc.. ( Not all of them, But of course few )

95% of the government servants are inefficient, non-productive, bribe prone, robs taxpayers money in broad daylight, do not work at least 02 hours per day. (Must say that the teachers are exceptional). So they do not deserve the permit. In fact they must be fined for ineficiency.

rich getting richer and poor getting poorer is general theory when a developing country goes through a major growth in GDP. However in time to come the gap (Gini Coefficient) would decrease. The rich needs to become rich for the poor to become rich, but newer happens visor versa.

Just got to know why the permits were "suddenly" made transferable. Can't put here but it's shocking to how policy is made and changed in this country. Very scary. Just ask around many people in the leasing industry know about this.

given the corrupt system in SL, I do not think your Gini Coefficient theory would come to a reality, may be for some other countries but not SL for sure given the mentality of the people here
