I think the datsun is made totally for the Indian market in mind...Indians don't mind if the cars come without glove compartments or CD consoles or if the tires have only 3 nuts anymore than they mind of their toilets have 4 walls and a door

  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah....orders were taken starting end of June beg of July and they were making a huge frenzy and apparently got 6000 orders for it during the time...interesting to see what will happen to the Prius for which the lowerst grade's base price is slightly higher than the base price of the highest grade Axio Hybrid.

....but what I totally want is the following...a screen grab from the toyota.jp site

s4y5.jpg

YEAH BABY ! Toyota Corolla Hybrid JEANS !!!

More on the Corolla Hybrid Jeans :

I wonder if this is pre-washed and comes with some special washing instructions....according to the article this is not a paint job but apparently actually wrapped in jean cloth...which beckons the question "WHY ????"

It may be a rendering, but it's probably pretty darn close. After the debuts of the Mazda CX-5, Mazda6 and Mazda3, its time for the automaker to turn its attention to its most beloved current model, the MX-5. The current third-gen car has been on the market since 2005. In this industry thats a huge amount of time, and yet the MX-5 is still competitive against the likes of the new Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ. In 2015, Mazda will debut the fourth-gen MX-5, which reports indicate will be lighter and more powerful than the outgoing car. Call it a back-to-basics engineering approach.post-51635-0-05862600-1376575824_thumb.j

Read it somewhere, and I believe even Top gear reported on it, that it is going to be a Mazda+Alfa tie up ? Mazda will call it the MX-5 (Miata) and Alfa the Spider...I think the plan was to have Mazda build both models. Also,Mazda will have their SkyActive engines and Alfa their own in them.

Nissan "revives" the Terrano badge for the Indian market, which is going to be completely built in India. The article doesn't give technical details but from the outward appearance of it, it seems to be cloned from the Renault Duster (which also is produced in India)

Nissan Terrano:

ah, looks like again mazda has done the styling and alfa romeo the engineering :/

IMO Styling will change for the Alfa. These two brands can not pull off a GT86 / BRZ type of a thing as the brands are so different. At the moment both practice their own unique design queues which are well established in the respective markets.

So it'll be a shared platform with completely different bodies in which case Alfa will get plenty of opportunities to put in their own styling.

Correct. The Mazda and the Alfa will have their own different styling both interior and exterior. Power trains will also differ as will suspension set up and steering geometry. The Alfa engines will start at 180bhp and go up to 235bhp.

Renault Duster

so first renault rebadged the dacia duster as Renault duster and now again rebadging again as nissan O.o

i dont really understand it since the renault duster is already in india.

It goes like this

Nobody in the world would have herd about Dacia if not for our friend James May,

In most parts of the world Nissan is more famous than Renault, for example Most Sri Lankans confine it to the walls of their toilets, Unlike indians :D

So people who don't know Dacia will buy the Renault even it's the same car,

And Sri Lankans will buy the Nissan rather than the same Renault or Dacia

So this Rebadging thing kind of makes sence

and to make up for the Terrano/Duster and for all Juke fans out there...Nissan gives you the all new Juke Star Wars Edition :) !!! 2 days more to go !

7l91.jpg

Check out: http://www.nissan.co.jp/SP/JUKE/PERSONALIZE/?rstid=20120425rst000000239 Has a trailer and a count down :)

The launch of the new Juke seems to be totally surrounded by the whole Star Wars theme and some magazines claim that there is going to be a "Limited" Star Wars edition, although the Nissan website itself doesn't say anything about it.
