Nissan Wingroad Engine Knock

Dear Friends,

I have a Nissan Wingroad WFY11. It starts and runs smoothly in the morning. When it reaches the operation temperature it starts to give slight engine knock and pulling efficiency reduces. It is an automatic one. I recently did engine tuning. But this problem did not solve. Will it be anything do with the radiator fan? I put AC and checked. Both fans are working. Is there any lo/high speed in this model? Anyway temp gauge did not go up above normal operation temp point. Please advise with your suggesstions.

Suggest you to check your plugs and plug wires. and when did you last change your ATF?

Recently did engine tuning with Dammika. Changed all 4 plugs at that time. ATF we changed around 8000km before. Will it be due to bad airfilter?

Was the engine coolant temperature sensor verified (ie whether ECT sensor sends the correct temperature to the ECU) when the engine was scanned last time? It is not required to be very accurate but should indicate a reading above 80C or so, when the engine is fully warmed up.

The QG15DE engine comes with 4 coil packs (1 for each spark plug) if I remember correctly. It might be a faulty ignition coil as well. The loss of power maybe due to one cylinder failing intermittently. This is assuming that the plugs are fine because they're new.

First check if the ignition coil connectors are properly secured. You can get the car to a state where it starts to knock and then remove each connector to check if each cylinder is getting a spark. If the spark is intermittent, then this is easier said than done. A diagnostic scan however will be able to tell you if there is a fault in the ignition system.

I changed both radiator and AC fan. Need to run and check whether knock is coming..

Great! But I dont understand, was it a overheating issue?

Yes. It seems. But in temperature gauge it did not show high. It was standing in operation temp mark point.
