iRage
What parts are you looking at ? If available EMS would be the most economical. Depending on the part and the quantity....Yes the receiver at this end will have to go deal with the customs and pay duty. If it is something small and light, they might not even bother, and the package will arrive at your doorstep. The clearance process (i.e. paying taxes and picking it up) is quite easy as long as the person going has a good attitude and is not trying to be condescending or devious in trying to evade paying taxes. The taxes will be based on the commercial value you declare when shipping it. So be mindful about the value you declare. Remember,,they are trying to do their job...evading taxes is not the fairest thing to do for the country. UPS/FedEX offers door to door services where they will deal with customs, pay taxes, etc...and give you a final bill. However, irrespective of the value you declare they have a tendency to declare full market value of the items (even when it is a used part) and you end up paying the maximum taxes. With EMS and selfclearance you can minimize taxes based on the value you declare and the fact that you can actually talk to customs about the use of the items. Sometimes if you talk to them and say it is for personal use they might waive it all together or just charge a bare minimum. You lose this when using a door-to-door service like UPS.
