how many km would you run per month? what is the budget you would typically want to allocate for petrol every month? are you wrried about 2nd hand marketability too much?

it like this, i need the car with more than 12 km/L, used one is ok but mileage under 50000 Km, what about nissan primera?

I dont think Primera does 12 kmpl. my friend sold his one last week it did maximum around 8 - 9. He had to used 95 octane all the time, with 90 octane engine wasn't smooth. its TP12 may be its only this car others should be ok with 90 octane

so in concerning primera it has only the fuel consumption issue?

what is the price range for primera?

wht abt N16? and vios?

my budget is 2.2 M what is the best car to that price?

My friends one was in A/L classifieds too be bought 2.1M before tax reduction and sold 1.9M after tax reduction and was in topping condition. I think you will be able to get on with in 1.8M - 2.0M range

primera would never give you 12km/L. in colombo rush hour traffic i see it do no more than 7-8 km/L.

a manual vios may give you 12 km/L but is quite bad value for money. a 2003YOM or so 1.5L N16 manual is your best bet. you can get one for even under 2 mil. save 200k++ as a tribute to your ability to overlook the overpriced bad value for money mainsream choice vios.

yes i think ur correct best car in allround is N16, Price/Fuel/Capacity,

so i guess it is more better than vios. but i like primera... but in case of fuel consumption it is not good for me :violent-smiley-099:

not to offend any fanboys but its a common fact that nissans dont work on fuel quite well!!!but you would get better performance/comfort which Toyota's doesn't offer for the equal price range!!

the best way to find out which is teh best car is to fix your mind, fuel or quality/performance!!

Comfort wise Nissan is good............

But Fuel....

Spare Parts

2nd hand market then go for a toyota......................

Thats' the thinking pattern in SL

there could be issues if CVT gear box is not maintained well by previous owners, spares are rarer and more expensive than bread and butter models. it would be harder to sell for a desirable price. over time the depreciaion will be more than bread an butter models.

a properly maintained sunny with a manual gear box would not hesitate to give 11-12km/L in rush hour traffic. that is 121 range in my book. but yes the car has got to have manual transmission and be in a fairly good state to return that figure unlike the case with toyota.

ride in a 121 and then in an N16 before you put that 2 cents down. IMHO corolla is more comfortable than n16. spares of N16 and FB15 is cheaper than 121's. but yes 2nd hand market favors toyota.

don't bank on n16 fuel eff. unless you go for manual 1.5L car and especially a one in good nick at that.

121 is a bit high for me and it is a very common car, every where we can see a 121, and it has the general corolla design, but in case of Axio it is different and new look good...

iam comparing N16 with vios and belta, i guess belta is not demand as vios or else in future.

2nd hand market for n16 is good when the car has a good maintained record, it is common to every vehicle.

so n16 is my choice?

Nissan is bit ehind Toyota in fuel Economy. But comfortable n reliable cars.

If this is the only list u r interested in, ya better go for "N 16". But make sure to bet 1 500CC.

Better if "superSaloon".

Alternatively u can try Mazda 3 (2003) for arround 25.

BTW. If u say 121 is common on SL road n same common design, N16 too the same. :)

But only strange n good looking nissan they ever made in same platform is "Presea"

Comfort, quality of body.....Nissans

Cheap running repairs, cheaper fuel economy, higher resale value...Toyota

Personally find Nissans much better than Toyota. Still regretting I sold my Nissan and brought a Toyota. Nowhere near the quality of Nissan :(

yes N16 is common also, but not much as 121, 1500CC is the best........

generally the 121 design is too old
