Hi People

Wanted to get some insight on the Honda CITY V tech version 2005 YOM (Thailand version – wouldn’t dare touch anything Indian )

Now hold your hoses – NO B) I’m not migrating to Honda –This is for my mother (they got a car at their office for sale and we were planning to get a unregister after we sold the Wingroad but the prices are still on the high side for a 1.5C cars (e.g. Mazda, Toyota Belta )

So back to the requirement :

How is the car ?

What’s the knob /liver/ switch which says 7 speed ????

Is there an issue with the gear oil / changing ( Some one said to stay away as it has to be changed every 10,000km. is it true ???

Average price

Any other useful info.

I’m not too concerned about how much it does – anything in the range of 8-10 Km/per L would be ok

Thanks in advance

7 speed in the sense it has tiptronic transmission with 7 forward.

i think it does around 10kmpl within colombo & its really a good car, smooth driving(you dont even feel in which gear you're driving).

the average price of a reg one should be around 2.1mn - 2.3 mn

Ah Congrats on the choice.... at least the mother is thinking on the right lines... :D

Anyway, this argument is mainly due to the CVT gear box, I believe. An oil change every 15k in SL conditions was what I was told sometime back by the agents.. it's upto you to decide, depending on how much you run a month...

haven't heard of any other complaints..

I've only driven this a few times and it's quite a smooth car for it's class..

The mechanism behind smooth driving is CVT geat box (as we all know, it is belt driven). this CVT gear box which comes with honda City/Fit area is said to be having issues and can not be repaired. if you will not take care of it well, you will have to replace the whole gearbox. in addition, you can not use normal ATF for this kind. better stay away from CVT and go for a one with normal automatic transmission. before tax reduction, 2003 one was around 2.27 Mn

Oayiiiii :P

again - Me Sticking with Mazda :D

Thanks for the info though as much it would be something to do with theCVT, again that should be ok as I keep the oil changes up to date - and she's take ages to do 15000 kilometers

Thanks a lot :alc:
