Hello,

This is to inform you I am very dissapointed about the service magcity provide and making customers uncomfortable. and will not recommend thier service to anyone as well.

In the future I will not bring my vehicles or tell any of my collegues to get magcity services.

I am a PREMIUM/PLATINUM Card holder of Magcity & a Grantans card holder of Magcity. I do all my vehicle's related service due to only reason at magcity is, Its the closest to take my vehicle at.

I have done small repairs & wash to large expensive services including regular full services at this magcity service station.

Due to the heavy rain daybefore yesterday 10th Nov 2010. my car was drawned in water & got its interor and original seal carpets wet and I needed a interior cleaning & full service.

I did a booking early in the morning yesterday 10th Nov 2010. through Dinesh (the appointment taking guy) and he said not to bring the car yesterday and bring the car today (friday 12th nov 2010) morning.

when I took the car today/friday . they have already taken many cars which came as one time drop-in customers.

They rejected to take my car today & tomorrow and told me to bring the car on monday 15th nov 2010 evening and they will try to do something on tuesday it seems.

If these guys couldnt under take the appointment they should inform me early, as I had to cancel yesterday it self at Kleenpark & Pitstop appointment who agreed to return my car today it self. now since i have cancelled them I had no options but take my car away from magcity.

Bieng a loyal premium customer who holds a membership card who has done a prior booking before just brining the car I am heavily dissapointed and i wasted my official time without reporting to work also.

This is not the only time I was dissapointed at magcity services. but this time onward I decided not to require thier services and not to recommend your service to anyone.

I will also email & keep the public, media aware of your kind of service you provide to so called LOYAL customers.

I have also returned the Grantans card to Dinesh & I said I dont need any refunds for it.

I will give my feedback to grantans also about magcity services.

my issue is what is the point of prior booking and reservations and why do we need to get membership & granton card when magcity guys have a poor service

I dont want my time wasted and dont want others who wanted such service

therefore I would request everyone to take necesary steps to avoid such un professional service.

regards

Nissan Wingroad

Sorry, I'm asking this only because I dont know about it, but do you have to pay to get this membership? If so, you should have asked for your money back...

And I agree with you, if they give customers the option of "making appointments" they should honour these appointments. I guess they got a bit $$$-greedy with all these cars requiring interior cleanings and decided to get a big-ass serving onto a tiny-ass plate.

I haven't been there myself but everyone here knows magcity sucks, there's a whole heap of threads on this site about the subject. Unfortunately, nobody has yet taken a step to make this info public in a big way. Aren't these the guys that once dropped a sports car off the hoist?

went to Kandy Tire House, close to Punchi-Borella to replace the tires of 406. Took the elder fella with me on the day so had to stay away from the vehicle merely for about 5 minutes, just to rock the fella as he started crying. Came back to the vehicle and saw the bonnet hasn't closed properly and thought I forgot to close it properly and pushed it down to see it was close properly and locked but it was looked like popped out. Later realized some jack a$$ jacked the car or tried jack it up from the cross member found beneath the radiator. In 406, this mount aint that solid and shouldn't suppose to use to jack the vehicle up. Entire radiator panel lifted up causing the bonnet locks to lift. Not to mention the slight damage to the condenser and one radiator fan was squeezed on to the lifted radiator panel and it gave up working. Made a scene there and took the vehicle back to them on the next immediate working day and got it fixed under supervision of the guy who usually repairs my car.

Knew them bad and experienced their ill work and diagnosis sometimes back, but never ever thought they could be that bad. A supervisor fellow had a chat with me while they were fixing the car (glad they accepted the fault though none of mechanics were ready to accept that it was their mistake) and told me they've done the same to one of 406s belongs to a minister and ended up replacing the radiator and spending about 39k from their goodwill budget.

P.S - Sorry, I couldn't mention that Kandy Tire House, Mag Wheels(??)next to it and Mr.Paint in the same group? Yes, I was referring to the place almost in-front of acquinas borella.

Are you serious about the sports car!!!. man how can that happen. I think most service stations have their ups when they start and then go down, this is more or less part of the Srilankan culture.. Very few keep up the good work. Also it's difficult to please everybody but pleasing at least some would be good!!

The one and only time I went there was just after they had opened - to see whether I could get my car serviced there as they were close by.

However was told that I could not bring anything from outside - had to buy oil and filters from them. Seemed ridiculous to me that they were trying to enforce this when they had only Havoline Oil and VIC Filters.... never sighted the place since then and have heard a lot of horror stories.

What worries me is how many people entrust their vehicles to places like this and wait for them to screw up their car sooner or later....

Since I don't have other option I take my car to M.City in Kandy. But I ensure they do only the cleaning and oil change. I don't let them to touch the engine  Not even the interior clean. Because the cloth that they used to clean is so dirty.

My car took in water too. :(

Most of the service joints simply refused to take it cuz they were so all full up already. Some demanded Rs 8000 - 6000 for a full interior clean up and up to 2 - 3 days to do it.

Finally managed to find a place that did the job for Rs 2500 in a half a day :)

The flood water actually helped him keep the engine cool since his radiator leaks all the time.

This incident happened last saturday mid night at battharamulla. My family was after a party and got in to the car to go home at 12.30 mid night and the car started but couldn't moved. After some inspection with my friend we found that the fan belt is broken. One suggested magcity and we found the tp number from their web site using my mobilephone. I called magcity and waited 25 minutes the emergency cab came to battaramulla and replaced the belt. The 2 boys were very kind (One boy is Kapila) to us and fixed the belt and gave the bill. Its charged only 1500 + 230 for the fan belt. At 1 am in the morning to fixed the fan belt and go home safely cost me 1730 bucks!!!

I do not know much about magcity but what they have done for me was great.

Bit off how the engine started but the car wouldn't move; and due to a fan belt??? which belt exactly was this?

the land masters got a driving belt which transfers power from ply wheel to transfer case. Must be that. Otherwise i don't know of any fan belt which moves a car, or it must be mag city "experts" reasoning he posted here ;)

Hmmm... so MagCity is reading up on the Auto Forums and are trying to clear up their name, eh? Nice!

Now please tell me, what is this belt that was preventing you from moving?

Dear MagCity, since you are on to 'us'. :)

Don't try to hasten your ROI by fleecing customers. Provide a great service, but at a reasonable price. Most people in SL cant afford the car they drive, let alone looking after it. When people like you come in to take advantage of the idiots out there, it leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouths.

YOu dont need fancy equipment and uniforms to give a great service. All you need is knowledge and courtesy.
