Hi Friends, today morning I went to Edirsngha garage @udahamulla. They checked and decided to do an engine tune up because no petrol leak is visible. They told the spark plugs are in good condition but injectors are blocked. So I had to pay only the labor charge. Will see next 2-3 days whether the problem solved.

'Engine miss' issue gone, but petrol smell remains

I would like to input my problem here without opening another thread. I have a corolla 121 2002 and it gives strong patrol smell about an hour after a trip (i.e. after an hour I come home). This started with an engine miss about one month back. When I try to pick up after waiting in a traffic, engine suddenly stops, but I was able to start after 2-3 seconds. Never face issues in cold start. Any idea ?

I replaced all worn bushes from my nearby garage and realize that the problem is shock absorbers. There is a slight oil leak on one of it. Anybody can recommend a place to replace? Pls send me a PM. Thanks.

Hi Friends, I'm another 121 owner who is experiencing the same issue. I would like to share them with you. I went to a mechanic and he told me to replace rack ends and do some adjustment to the rack, but doing those did not fix the issue. after another 1 year time I went to another mechanic and explain the thing, at that time there is a serious hum coming from front wheels when accelerating (specially in highway reaching 70 kmph). So he replaced the rack bush and applied some grees on stabilizer links. But this time also that "Taka Taka" noise didn't go away (but the bill was 7500/= ) The hum is slightly reduced. Now the mechanic asking me to replace links and shock absorbers If anybody have some idea, please share. Because this noise is really a headache when driving daily. P.S. Actually my car is NZE120 manufactured in 2002. Cheers.

Hi, My car is corolla 121. The main power shutter switch panel is not functioning some times (all 4 switches). The switches in other 3 doors are working properly. Anybody can advice me ? And please tell me a good place to check this. Thanks, Nisala

Hi, I have a corolla wagan. Last week I did a full service to my AC system, checked the cooler, condenser, horses and replaced the filter also and filled with new AC gas. That day it was working fine. Today when I switch on the AC, it does not cool. After riding 2-3 kms and I came back to home and checked the AC. When I start the engine and switch on the AC, the engine stopped with a rough 'krrrrr' sound. Now without switching on the AC also, the engine gives a noise. If I switch on the AC, the engine stops. Is this a problem on the AC belt ? Please help... Thanks.

I think this is due to the fan. It interferes some car stereos. But good quality sets not affcted

Yes, problem got fixed. Now its running smoothly. After the repair only the gears got stucked, but now its ok. Mechanic said its now ok but he is not an expert !!. Before the repair another mechanic said 'you can run more'. But that humming was very noisy. However my advice is to meet an expert

Hey bro, I experienced this in my recently bought Corolla Wagon (KE72). The hum was in 2nd and 3rd gears. I checked this with 3 mechanics. One of them told that the gear box wheels are worn out. Others told the hum is comming due to worn out razers. The humming noize increased and I removed the gear box with one of the mechanics. He inspect and decided to replace all the razers. And the bush was also worn out and had to remake the bush. But unfortunately I had to remove the gearbox for the second time after running very few km's, bcoz arm got stucked in second gear . Then I took the vehicle to the same mechanic, he replaced some small stick like parts. I had to spent around 11,000/= for all of this. Important: Choose an expert for Gear Boxes Thanx

Hey buddy, A littel tip :dont consider about the fancy parts of a vehicle. Later you can setup good audio system for 20,000 and alloys also for that much of price. Pay ur attention for the mechanical stuff first.
