After three days the dashboard lights turn on but the engine doesn't turn over.

The alternator was fried so I had to buy a reconditioned one. But the car is un-startable after three days so it appears the problem isn't solved. What else could it be?

I wish to sell my Mazda Astina 1989 1.5l DOHC, 17-8xxx. I'm going to advertise it on Autolanka when its ready to be sold, so it shouldn't be a problem for the mods. It has new paint (red), new tyres, a new battery, reconditioned alternator and engine and new clutch. Also got a CD/MP3 player. How much can I sell it for.

I need to get a new alternator. Where is the best place and how much does it cost. The car wouldn't start. It's only been three days since we last started it and this keeps happening. The battery is two weeks old. Could there be any other problem?

Tudor in Pelawatte. He painted it in the week I was away. I didn't know about the basecoat (or lack of one) till much later.

The paint started peeling and bubbling as soon as I got it home. I take a new color, basecoat (the painter didn't bother with one) and a new painter would fix things. I think maybe red or white...

Already checked out websites. I wouldn't have chosen black if I had known the finish was going to be this f*cked up. I have considered white... do you think it will have an effect on the car value? It is a rare color for an Astina...

Ah, I said the shock from the boot lid, not suspension shocks. They were working quite well until I got the car painted. When they were put back on they didn't work so the (idiot) mechanic drilled holes in it without telling me.

Sorry, I don't know what you are referring to. Am I not already on the AL forum? I tried Mazna a couple of months ago and he didn't have either of them.

Thanks for the response about the painter. I got a stroke so I need the telephone numbers to specific places as I have trouble traveling. I can arrange freight but so far I have not found anything. After the stroke I have trouble coming up with new ideas.
