  1. Hi all We have a KR42 diesel converted 3c engine mode. No issues with the van yet, and 2c engine does not have the enough pulling power needed for sudden overtakes. But 3c engine does not have any issue even with the A/C. But a small issue i have seen almost all the AUTO cr42/kr42/cr41 vehicles is at low speeds engine revs at really high RPM before the power being distributed to the wheels, that means gears does not shift from 1st to 2nd until some time. I have seen this on almost all the auto models (around 10). Has anyone noticed this issue before and anyone knows where is the problem. The other thing is engine compartment is not sound proof very well so that engine noise comes to the inside even more than vans having engines inside the vehicle such as Dolphins,CR27
  2. Hi all Thanks for all the replies. So I think all in all CR41 or 42 is a good vehicle and better to look for CR42 with 3C engine due to this under power issue
  3. Hi Thanks for the reply I have heard that 2C engines need to be repaired below 150000km on most occasions. and most engines runs under compression after it reaches that milage
  4. hi all i am planning to buy a dual purpose vehicle with comfortable. So obviously I have opted for the CR41 or CR42. I have used many Toyota cars and vans but haven't had any experience with CR41 or 42 before. I have heard some issues with the 2C engine used in this van. So any members who have used this vehicle and has experience with this. Please share what ever the information you have. Thanks in advance Regards
  5. Hi all My car is 1997 toyota carina myroad AT212. Recently i have done the emission test and the Hydro carbon is high and that guy said that is too much (118PPM) for a car in that condition and he asked me to do a ECU/EFI tuning. (I can also smell the petrol smell even after long drive). First of all can any one tell me a reputed place to do this, how much normally does it costs. And what does do by tuning the ECU/EFI. Thanks all
  6. Most probably in the AC clutch pully. You can check this when the bonnet opened try to accelerate the vehicle and see if you can see the metal dust from the ac pully area if this is the case you may have to replace the pully
  7. Thanks, I will try to replace this, by the way i have seen some accelaration loss recently, Can this have any effect on this.
  8. HI I have a 1997 carina Ti car . From a month time i see a small oil leak in the cam cover and the around the distributor area. I can see this also around the oil cup. This is not like a leak (That means no significant reduction on oil level) Any body having any idea about this
  9. Hi all i am having a 1997 toyota carina. Few months back there was some shaking in the vehicle so i have found it was due to a gear box mount being failed. So that i found the mount on one of the sparepart places (reconditioned) and replaced it and at that time all the other mounts were ok. But after about one month later i found the same rattling sound and found two engine mounts and the replaced gearbox mount has failed. Can somebody suggest what is the reason for this because will the same happens if i change all 3 mounts this time Thanks Regards
  10. It seems to be true. I got this news from some of my friends who still has that special vehicle permit. They also going to loose if this happens, according to my knowledge they are going to take the decision on this Wednesday.
