Hope this is a new episode of the "Comeback Kid"...and i mean the SWRT2008 car. Hate the new shape, but really glad to see Subaru (hopefully) back in form... Some fantastic hi-res pics, including a Solberg "on two wheels" shot.... http://www.autoblog.com/photos/subaru-wrc2...e-debut/837157/

Change in direction between those traffic lights has been done just to accomodate the movement of the regal leader and his brothers. Thats it. He just made a statement that we should conserve fuel...
-
Will he be the George Best of F1? Honestly, he could be boning the entire NFL cheerleading squad and i won't care...as long as we get an entertaining fight for the championship...
-
So i've just been informed that this is an elbow ribbing... (roll eyes)

Thanks Devinda- haven't had time to catch up on this.

Yes the Zero Sports splitter is available for the GC Rex... http://www.zerosports.co.jp/shop/index.php...;cPath=11_14_36

I'd second that. If my car didn't come with the factory spoiler, would have prefered it that way. Silent killer is a good way to describe it. But its a question of taste, if you want install one or not. Darin's factory painted spoiler should look good!

Yes, this was the first car i had a look at when on my STI quest. Colour is a metallic brown and i think a ground-effects body kit has been added. Its definitely a pre-revamp model, with the old dash, etc. but has the new lights, front shell, which tells me its an STI 3. A new turbo was going to be installed when i saw it @ Senok back in November- then i later found out that it was bought by the Apparels chap... Previous owner was the famed Tennis player, who now owns Rhamzi's STI 7.

Andrew, Pericles...curiosity peeked...who's the new 'lady'?
-
If i recall, it was a 302-xxxx number. I believe this was the same Lime green car that had blinged out chrome wheels back in the day. Now has projector headlights, white alloys. Was driving, so really couldn't get a close look though...

Actually, closer inspection will reveal it is painted to match STI pink.

Dude...your investigatory skills scare me. Ok- can add to this. 4 STI V's were brought to SL brand new by Senok. 1 accounted for... 1 was upgraded to stageII, no idea what happened to it 1 owned by Sunlanka bloke (not sure if still is the case) 1 owned by a Media Personality? Not sure 1 STI VI (aforementioned RA-Ltd) was brought by Uncle B; now in possession of Spraymech from what i understand. Blue car with full Race spec accessories. 1 STI VII - now owned by former Sports Personality, restored to original spec 1 STI VIII - Red Race Car? Had a few unfortunate accidents in its life time...still running i believe The newer cars i've lost track of...although i know there to be one rare Spec C Nurburbring Edition I'm hoping someone will be brave enough to import the swan-song Type RA-R....supposed to be most perfect of them all.

I'm wondering if forum member Velocity can shed some light on the number of cars in SL...i believe he was the founder of the Local WRX club. What say Velocity? (as suggested, better not to hijack this thread and start a new one)

The main shop is on Galle Road, wadduwa. You can't miss it...massive sign with Euro Nippon written on it. The new store, i'm not so sure...but i'm hoping some folks will shed light on this if there are any visits this weekend...
-
EJ15 (Engine number prefix) indicates the original engine on the vehicle. This means the car started out as a 1.5l. EJ20 is the 2.0... As for conversion prices...depends on how well its done i suppose. I would guess somewhere in the region of 1.5 mill?? Depends what went into the car...which is why conversions are a risky buy unless you know the previous owner, etc.
-
Oh...what brings you to the Senok stables? I'm sure J shared some amusing anecdotes about me as an Scooby owner...

Thanks for the info- is it Mirai or Miraj autoland? Are they in panchi? You're going to tear you hair out when i tell you this- if they charged you 15k for the used grill, you could have spent 1-2k more and bought a brand new one from Japan. I guess the big "if" is if you can dodge the import tax, ahem. Original rear lights are each about 17k too...again this is pre-import pricing.

Folks Just got word that Euro Nippon- those blokes who import car parts by the shipload...are opening a performance parts store this weekend! Details are sketchy, but i reckon it'll be worth a visit. I know a lot of the stuff they are hoping to sell are aimed at the Evo/Scooby market...but i'm sure there will be generic items that will apply to any car. Shop is in Wadduwa, so i'm willing to bet its next to the original store. I'm most likely not able to go this weekend, but if anyone has the chance, pls update the thread. Madz- pls moderate if this borders on advertising.... thanks

(resurrecting thread) Gihan- any luck finding parts, apart from Senok? I too, want to stock up on a few parts that are bound to run out, now that the model is approaching 10 years. thanks

Had a chat with the works manager sometime back- apparently this car has made the rounds in an attempt to get it back to operational. Apparently the agents even had a go, but couldn't put it right. Its said to be 95% good now; although they spent quite some time locating a battery that fits the rear compartment (its in the boot). Odd shape apparently. Very hairy to drive, i'm told....fishtails at the slightest overzealous right foot. This is before the era of LSD, intelligent traction control etc. Sad thing is that it's an Auto. Its actually a very odd metallic pink colour with dark purple leather, which leads me to believe the first owner was probably a bird. I don't know if anyone noticed the brit reg: "B5STAD"...which reads 'bas*ard'...

Senok tend to give a conservative estimate on repairs- although that greatly depends on availability of spares. I've never had a problem with late completion.
-
Try removing the rear tires/ swapping sides. If the sound persists from the same location, its likely to be something in the suspension/hub. If not, have a closer look at the relevant tire...could be a broken radial or sidewall bubble...
-
Cheaper Alternative is to get 100W Headlight Bulbs- rally spec. HID is a bit more expensive...

Seen a lot of threads on Insurance & Car Alarms- Very curious to know how real the threat is in Colombo....any forum members know of first hand car thefts of known friends/family/colleagues? Rumoured High Risk Vehicles: - Diesel Jeeps/Cabs/Cars Again, i've heard rumours that there are certain types of vehicles that are stolen more frequently, but i have never met anyone firsthand who has been a victim. With all the money spent on Insurance and Alarms, i wonder how much is actually justified... Any thoughts?
