  1. Hmm...cleared couple of weeks back...managed to secure an awesome deal finally...haven't had any driving experience yet as I am abroad at the moment...expecting to be behind the wheel later next week...
  2. Using a 1998 Pajero IO since early 2008 as a second vehicle. It is worth for the price around 2 million. Only 50,000KM on the clock when I bought it and was well maintained. So I didn't have to spend much on the maintenance. Also I don't drive on daily basis. Only the battery and tyres replaced. My one has got some extras fitted like front and rear crash bars and side steps. I think these extras enhance the look as this is a small SUV. The rear leg space is a problem and sitting on the rear seat is not comfortable. Has decent luggage space though. You can fold the rear seats so it increases the luggage space. My one has got GDI engine, fuel consumption is decent. Gives around 8-9 Km/l long run. May not be economical for a daily runner. Overall I am satisfied with this piece of machinery.
  3. Buddy what made you think that I am in a lost cause...Is it because I didn't use the same language that you did...It is true that you can't drag me to your level...but I have courage to express my opinion to your rude comments like your punching option...
  4. Here we go...once again...somebody wants to reconsider his punching option...are you guys really insane or what...what is wrong in driving or taking about an Axio...it's their choice and you want to punch them...oh please...be practical
  5. If you use your language properly in a public forum...no body can take the threads away from the topic...and abt IQ...yes you have demonstrated well enough...me personnaly don't care whether it is Axio or Axela...it is anyone's personal choice...but I don't intend to insult or punch anybody just for using or taking about an Axio.
  6. So you are now compelled to punch them just for using or talking about an Axio?...nice way...keep it up bro...
  7. Where in Abudabi you get this right hand market? Do you have any contact number?
  8. Hello there, One of my friend has come accross above car 2007 model for a good price. What do all know about this car? Is this OK to buy? Any known issues of this model? Also is 4WD option a problem for a small car like this? Will it affect the resale value? What is the general perception of 4WD cars? Thanks in advance
  9. What is the year and month of first registration of your vehicle?
  10. Guys, Do you know whether we can import used toyota yaris sedan or hatchback car to Sri Lanka? I know these are not JDM but is there any other country that use these vehicles and export to other countries as used vehicles? Thanks in advance
  11. Recently one of my friend cleared Axio 2007 (last lap) and he paid around Rs. 1.85 million as total tax. I think this is minimum for Axio. I got to know from a friend of mine working for a clearing agent that tax for Vitz 1300CC late 2008 is around Rs. 1.6 million. This is much higher than I expected. Vitz late 2008 comes with 8 airbags and it will attract an addtional tax of 1 lakh according to him.
  12. Yes there will be some noticeable drop for a person who is planning to buy a vehicle for 7 million. But in my opinion majority of propesctive buyers for unreg vehicles will fall in the price braket of 1-4 million. This 15% reduction in tax may not make much difference in the prices of these cars considering the increasing CIF values and JYen appreciation. There will be some people who may be inclined to delay their decision to buy an unreg vehicle anticipating a further reduction in tax and this may decrease the demand for japanese used vehicles. You can imagine the outcome. I don't agree with delaying tactics but it is for each individual to decide.
  13. I think there is no restriction to import left hand drive car from some other country but it has to be converted to right hand drive prior to loading to the ship. The rule as far as I know is that the vehicle should be right hand drive when it reaches Sri Lanka. You can go up to 10 years old vehicle under special licences issued for Sri Lankan expats. Check import export control department website for details. Tax will depend on the vehicle that you choose and the saving by going for older vehicle is that you get a bigger depreciation up to maximum of 60% dep so that the CIF value used for tax caculation will be less.
  14. No body is forced to buy at those high prices. When there is no demand at those high prices, the prices will automatically come down. Just my thoght on this.
