  10. Thank you for all the wishes….appreciate that….and the Evo X surely now feels lot quicker and ready to run in the front pack….it took over 2 years to make the car competitive . I look forward to the 2011 Championship in the SL-GT
  11. Happy belated B'day wishes Peri..
  12. Thank you Damith…. And for the rest of the guys who would be coming to see the races, it is 12km from Kurunegala town and not 18km as per map and a further 2.5km after the turn off from the main road. Rest of the directions are correct.
  13. Yes I will be, as it is a Championship event.
  14. Yes it is....
  15. I also have a Grande Punto and does only 10km per liter in the city and 12-13km out of city Never got anything more than that. As Dilesh said it is the instant consumption per liter as shown in the dash. You also have the same option in the Japanese 1500cc VVTI Swift sold brand new from the agents here…. All in all Grande Punto is a great car and I drive it every day… :-)
  16. Not me... I will be ready to run Carlton on 21st Feb.
  17. Thank you all for your kind wishes

  20. Sevanagala rally for me was indeed a memorable event for 2 reasons…..one being that I lost a years hard work by mere 0.8 seconds and the second being the jump which I am not sure if I would repeat something similar…. However my fullest respect for Rizvi Farouk who won 2 rallies and for all the Subaru fans Rizvi created history to win a Championship in SL in an Impreza for the very first time World over the STi is a very competitive car and we just didn’t have a driver who would compete a whole Championship/season in a competitive Subaru….and now we have one As for the Evo fans, look forward to a thrilling Championship in 2010 Cheers! www.dinesh-d.com
  21. Thank you for all the wishes Although I won both Championships, I had many dramas with the EVO X thought the 2009 season where the list could be so many. A laymen looking at the EVO X expects the car to be faster than the earlier versions but in real life it is not the case and I write this with first hand experience. It is sad but the real fact is that it just doesn’t go anything more than 185 kmph on the Katu straight where as the EVO IX GT easily got 225 kmph . A 40 kmph top speed difference is like day and night. You feel as you are in one place and the other car is moving. I hope with time to come the top speed issues could be sorted. As of this moment of time among the EVO models, there is nothing to beat the EVO IX GT which is what I competed for 3 seasons and now Pasindu, Nishan, Mahinda and Missaka are using currently. During SL-GT race 2 at Sigiriya Rally Cross, at the launch it was yet again another drama when the accelerator pedal broke from the most to end . Much to my surprise is was made out of plastic (as per pics below) opposed to EVO IX in metal and when UML took the matter with MMC they said it has to be made in plastic and not metal due to Electronic Throttle (Drive by Wire) system . So for the future too this could happen but now I am aware of it. There was only an inch of plastic that were remaining at the top lever where the unit broke from and I had no choice but to push is with the hand as reaching my right foot from the brakes up there was nearly impossible. So a hand operated throttle was the only option to move the car forward. I should say it was quite an experience which I don’t expect to do in the future .
  22. Nothing intentional Peri As a matter of fact till I came to the paddock area last time at Pelwatte I didn’t even know there was bird stuck in the head light area of my car ….I guess all drivers focus so much on what they should be doing and other aspects are not much taken into count I guess it being a tarmac rally this time the speeds would be much grater than Pelwatte. So this time at KKG the birds wouldn’t have much time to escape

To add more colour to Fox Hill, one of the leading PWRC drivers who represent/sponsored by YOKOHAMA tyres and backed by MMC Japan will be specially coming to witness Fox Hill. He will be accompanied by a journalist who will cover his trip in SL. Personally I am very pleased to see drivers of this caliber competing for a World Rally title in Group “N” have seen SL motor sports seriously and hope we would get positive publicity about SL motor sports globally He currently competes in the PWRC in an Evo X RS You could see more details of his racing activities at www.nutahara.com
  25. Happy B'day Velocity
