    Chery Qq

Despite the claims of the Chery QQ been assembling in Sri Lanka, nothing has materialized so far, according to the DPMC showroom folks. BTW the Chevys are coming from India not Korea!
  2. Thanks for the pictures. Keep up the good work!

    Lancer Evo X

I remeber Evilmak mentioning the price was 13 Mil. Mivec.turbo shold have the exact figures, and I'm sure he's already placed the order.
  4. Weed did you recenlty cross over from the Government to the Opposition. Or did you smoke the other end of the pipe? Did anyone of you notice he was ass-kissing the ruling party some time back and know his opinions seems to be exactly that the opposition carries these days!
  5. The Car in the picture is the Corolla Auris sedan, offered in the Aussie,UK and some Asian markets. What we get here is the JDM spec Corolla Axio which has the model number NZE141
  6. Price quoted for imported vehicle for permit.
  7. Saw your post just in time to catch the final super car event. Thanks for the update Miniace!

    B4 Tt

There seems to be quite a few for sale. The recent Sunday papers had atleast 2 listed each week. Considering fuel prices a very few will be interested in these cars. So it's a buyers market, even though some owners qoute around 3 Mil.
  9. Just got to know from Micro one Acton double cab was imported. With its dual-purpose duty category it has costed about 3.3 Mil whereas the same spec Actyons were around 3.7 Mil. They also said they have no intention of assembling the cab version, but can import in on request for the permit.
  10. Good luck to all participants including mivec.turbo! BTW mivec.turbo is this your last race in the Evo IX? Word is already out that you've placed an order for an Evo X
  11. It shares the drivetrain and chassis with the Actyon. I believe what you would have seen is one of the first imported through the permits. The next batch of Actyons will be assembled in Sri Lanka as government has given permission to offer local vehicles for the permits. If the demand exists Micro will definitely offer it for the non-permit market. A very comprehensive review from a Malaysian auto-journalist can be found at the below link. http://paultan.org/archives/2007/06/26/ssa...uck-test-drive/
  12. Compare it with a Clio V6. Car sits very tall as oppsoed to the ground hugging actual V6.
  13. Congrats. Would love to see it fitted with one of your extreme kits.
  14. Yep the link got censored, try filling in the missing characters. Anyway I don't think this is a V6. Coz with a 3 ltr engine it would be a taxed heavily. I'm guessing it's a kitted car, and from Fib#x pictures the kit looks identical.
  15. Get a Tata mobile Yaaar!
  16. Miniace how come this went unnoticed to you? I believe this is a Clio with a kit done by none other than Rohith Check this out. http://Fib#x.4minutesperday.com/brands/renault1.htm
  17. YUK!
  18. a female collegue from office bought a QQ recently. I sent here crash test pictures of it right afterwards. She was shocked. The majority of people here completely neglect safety features when they buy a car.

    Mitsubishi Fto

I remeber seeing an ad sometime back for 3 mil. But too high I think
  20. Thanks everyone. You guys just saved me 7000 bucks for this nonsense AA membership. As evilmak said will consider getting a DL once there. I don't plan to buy or use a car regularly though, will survive on the bare minimum as I intend to save some cash to bring home (some of you might know why ) .
  21. Nope
  22. Went to the AA and they said the Intl license will cost me Rs.7500+ including the membership. You mean to say the membership is not compulsary to get the Intl license?
  23. Autolanka members living in the US might be able to help me out on this one. Can we use our Sri Lankan driver's liscences in the US? Some of my office collegues who went on business visits have managed to even rent cars with only our driver's license. But will that work long term? Also another option available is to get an international driving permit. The requirement is to get a rental vehicle once in a while and do not require to drive daily.
  24. It has become a norm know. You can weep infront of the customs officer till they reduce the tax though.
  25. Cheapest prices in the country are at Panama Traders and also Solids, both are at MC. Considering international prices, the US is the cheapest place to buy with Amazon.com giving very good discounts on selected digicams.
