  1. You seem to be a little outdated of Micro's recent achievements. The Micro SUVs are selling very well these days. There current production of about 30 vehicles a month is completly sold out. Also today I was at the Micro head office and overheard that the waiting list for the Rexton is two months as of know. Not to mention the number of permit vehicles they will be giving. They have plans to gradually increase the production capacities to 60 a month and then by end of the year to 100. So far about 200 orders have beem taken for the permits alone. I'm not a follower of this government, but Micro has recieved considerable support from them as compared to the previous governments. One trend that is developing recently is a lot of wealthy businessmen and ministers/MPs buying the Rexton as a must have in their fleet. Micro also claim to have the best sales figures for diesel SUVs for 2007.
  2. Here are some pics, BTW who owns it?
  3. Managed to get in prior to the show openening to the public, with the help of Milindu, show was good, if you like the oldies, then this is for you. Pics will be sent to Madz for uploading. In the mean time look who got into the FormulaWorld ad. None other than our very own Pericles. BTW did anyone spot the red leather on the Rexton?
  4. What if the company goes bust before the agreed date? (Previous Fiat agents don't exactly have the best track records - you know what I mean)
  5. Hipokid, I hate to be rude to newbies, but you don't quite seem to have understood the community here. How many posts of this nature have you put up? First Delsol, second Cynos then Honda sports car, and then the EG8 thread. It gives us the impression you're just wasting everyone's time here on the forum.
  6. Friday 5pm. Rest of the days 3 pm.

    More Sti Spy Shots

There were plenty of earlier generation STi hatchbacks.
  8. 3.7 - 4 mil range i believe
  9. I thought they were to assemble only the X type.
  10. The permit regulations go into detail about the conditions of use of the vehicle. If the authorities act as given then there is no way to get away with using someone elses permit car. However in Sri Lanka there are many laws and regulations that are never enforced. For example the non-transferable permits of the MPs and ministers sell in the open market (well known 'Benz" car incident). But these are of the top people. Authorities might act differently to the average governement servant. I already heard of cases where these permits have been sold. But then again it is sort of a risk. Best thing to do is wait for a while and see how actually the authorities re-act to it. And then decide whether to go ahead. Tell your relative to get the permit and keep it. Wait for about 6 months (permit is valid for 6 months). By that time there will be many permit vehices on the road. Then asess the stituation again.
  11. I think Avanza is good value for money. Atleast you know what you're getting. Order the corolla 141 (diesel) and you don't know what you're getting. Even agents are vague about the details
  12. Dude if it was the US people would have already sued the network operators. I believe these jams are due to selling more connections than they can actually support. And they make it a big point to shout out the number of subscribers. No point having 3 mil crippled subscribers! The whole communication network is useless in an Emergency!
  13. A friend of mine tells me Condo prices will fall very soon due to many facts. So many coming up and the market will be flooded Apparently there is going to be a law preventing (or higher taxes) foreigners looking to buy In case of a bomb disaster, and the building is destroyed (remember 9/11), the indivudals will be left with nothing as they do not have ownership to any land as such.
  14. I don't see any difference in the chart they've given.
  15. Anuruddha's last picture update was from UK, so I believe our friend is still there.
  16. I remeber Evilmak telling me that Evos can handle low octane fuel.
  17. Anyone know the exact difference in contents of Diesel and Super Diesel? The chart in the Ceypetco website details the chemical contents, but I fail to see a difference. http://www.ceypetco.gov.lk/Products_and_Services.htm
  18. I was just kidding Miniace . I know how good a product Velocity is selling. I'm waiting till the day he opens up a grooming centre... Velocity, have you got leather conditioner and wash mittens in stock?
  19. On the topic of Avanza, what is the actual fuel consumption? I searched the previous posts on the Avanza but there was no mention. I'm considering one for the permit. (second permit that is ) Also I got to know from Toyota Lanka prices have gone up. DCL what was the price you got?
  20. Product wise it has better ratings than 3M from online reviews. Carmart quoted 17K for a complete tint on an large SUV. However I think the final result depends on the technician's talent when applying. I wanted to go check out a specimen from Carmart but never found the time yet.
  21. Correction 3M tint WAS the best. Carmart now offers Lumar tints. Lumar is a subsidary of Dupont USA, and if you read online reviews Lumar scores higher than 3M. As a matter of fact 3M pruchases their materials from Lumar!
  22. I guess the fuel ecenomy counter balances the maintainence. However they are more prestigous and luxurious than a Corolla and definitely easy on the pocket than a petrol luxury car.
  23. In SL Mercs have a better reputation for being reliable over the bimmers. BTW I'm talking about diesel C class and the 3 series diesel. They are very economical fuel wise, averaging about 10-12 kmpl in city running. Most Japanese SUVs under this price will be moslty petrol ones with fuel economy of about 7/8 kmpl. However the early 90s Landcruiser II and Nissan Patrols will be within the budget.
  24. Firstly there are very few 121 Corolla diesels in the country, and almost all are on permits. But I've seen a few selling around 3.5 - 4 mil range. Next there is no Micro that'll fit within the budget. The Kyron is 6.5 mil and the Rexton is 7.5 mil. I'm yet to see any second hand Kyrons, Rextons in the market, but when they do come out, I don't think they'll drop value very much. Best reliable and economical diesel within the budget would be a 64-/65 - Merc C200 or a C220 diesel. Or if you look around a bit there might be some 65- BMW 320d within the budget.
  25. Block wise and electronics wise yes, But Mercedes, Jeep and Ssangyong seem to have played with stroke/bore themselves, becuase on each application the power/tourqe slightly varies.
