From my experience, customers are often willing to pay a bit more for a well-presented, reliable car. I did something similar and used a system like Sugar CRM to manage projects and customer interactions, which really helped with organization and transparency. Your dad’s concern about costs is valid; repairs can sometimes be pricier than expected. However, if you provide high-quality work and are transparent about what’s been done, you can usually justify a higher price.
