davy i also have a problem with my speedometer cable....it suddenly shivers and stops working although the trip count is fine and goes on. then suddenly the needle is back to normal. i replaced the cable twice with a new one each time. what is so special with the cable does the A72 have a different one the one i have replaced is the same for all standard cars? wonder if there is a problem inside the meter housing it self.

where should i check if i visit the horana town....you know the location ?

anyone knows wher i can an original 4G33 rotor. i went to tune my car with dhammika fernando in cotta road. he did a superb job but told me that my rotor is short...car runs ok at least to what I feel...but still would like to get it original as possible. Does the cup of the distributor indicate an arrow as to which way the distributor turns....i remember a mechanic telling me that my distributor turns the opposite from the arrow. i am a but puzzled.

yes i recently went to panchikawatte and bought a front side ring for the light after an accident there were some shops only with the left side and some wanted about 2 weeks to come. i got one from a shop close to the commercial bank. There you can get the whole rear light set including the housing and cover for 3600++ and he said that is made in srilanka.maybe the flatlight covers are also possible. worth a try.

yes that is sums it up and i wish we could do that...i have seen some great cars still road worthy specially japanese classics where the car is great only if the lights were fixed properly.

actually don is this possible....i mean the lights ? I have never come across a place where you can re manufacture a set of lights. If we can we can even save a lot of foreign exchange..

Just for the record , is it possible to restore the car back to origianal condition?, by looking at the accident. say by replacing the axle and other stuff....

Sylvi, Dont get me wrong but if he is only good in painting then there is nothing great about the guy right ?...since the tinkering part is the most important part and this can effect the overall finish of the product , maybe some expert can add some insights to it.I am keen to know of a good tinker plus painter...

Sylvi, does this guy do tinkering work as well....that is the most important part to me....i have seen some fellows who boast of doing tinkering in 1 day which is somewhat impossible if you are doing a good paint job.

tyres were aliged recently....carb was tuned last poya day...so then i should check the prop shaft.....

can anyone tell me if there is anyway to know whether your engine mounts are worn out.....my car vibrates a lot in high speed after 70kmph....is this because of worn engine mounts.but other speeds at below 60 is perfect...

yah....i am sure it would not go beyond say 145 the engine would max out...but in my personal opinion any modern small engined car should be able to reach 140++ with a lot of time in a straight stretch becuase car engines have improved over time. does this 800cc engine produce more HP than the 1300c VW engine built in the 1960`s ? anyone knows the stats

i also can agree to that....yesterday i went to him and he tuned my engine and the car is smooth now and i can feel a great difference. the guy is good as all members have told me. Does not talk much and is a silent chap but knows what he is doing and concentrates fully on the work ....i guess it is his passion and he enjoys his work. I went there at about 1 pm and got a bill of about 2200 which is reasonable from my point of view. he told me that my rotor in the distributor is short and that needs to be sorted out.apart from that he made all the other stuff.
