  1. Wow guys thanks, I wasn't able to login there are so many replies. One last help so do I change gears or not, what's the final? mm well to answer. Yep sure about the mileage (personally got down). One thing I did forget to mention was at approx 15k Toyota did a tuneup and with it changed the plugs. Also after writing this mail I took it to a service station on Nawala road '3M?'. he had a look and said the throttle too can do with a bit of cleaning. Note: I've always used super petrol I'm totally confused to be honest. Where do I start is there something wrong in how I change gears. Do I actually need to do this cleaning? please help
  2. Hi, I have a 2006 B/New Premio, it has done just under 17,000kms. It has a automatic gear box. Lately it hesitates to accelerate beyond 80kmph. When you press on the accelerator instead of the smooth jet sound it had before it now gives out a 'brrrr brrrr' sound and does not pickup as it used to do. I took it to Toyota on Saturday, I was instructed as below Probable diagnosis - Injections nozles etc may have corrosion deposits from petrol. Probable Solution - Use a petrol additive to clean out the system Further I was also told I have not used the gear box correctly. I was told I should shift 'up' or 'down' the gears to slow the car etc. I always put to drive and wait for the gears to change in its own pace. (I do not push it) Please let me know are these correct? Should I follow these instructions?
  3. Hey mate, Thanks posted before or not still appreciated. Good article I'm sure many will benefit. For those who have seen it before refresher, do you really follow the tips.
  4. I'm a Sri Lankan and proud to be one. However this flabbergastardly stupid country does not respect its own peolple and values. I think the local manufacturer should have been given the fullest support which he did not get. This opportunity is gone. However it's not too late to stand up. When the next idea comes up to support the people stiving to be different for a worthy cause. We bost about a heritage of 2000+ years. but NZ is some 150+ years and it is a zillion times advanced than us. Sadistically there are Sri Lankans in NZ doing proud to NZ. But weren't they in SL at some time in life. Then where has it gone wrong? We fought against slavery and got independence. What for? today we welcomely kiss white's As.. in our own soil Wake up guys it's our country.
  5. Gosh these speeds are way above mine and my imagination on SL roads. other than the drag stuff that takes place after hours. Anyways I've done 130+ on kandy colombo road immediately after it was carpeted. and a simmilar on the kandy - habarana road. Further a 116 on the Negambo road. To prove it all I've asked the cops to hold onto my driving license for safe keeping!.. ha..ha actually they took em and booked me not to mention the lenghty lectures... But fortunately on the Habarana stretch I was lucky. A montero in front of me spead off without stopping so I followed behind him. I saw the cop throw his hands up in the middle of the raod that's it.. I always say my prayers though ..
  6. Guys and Gals, Today I can vouch the Allion has heating side mirrors. I was up country last week and heck the morning was cold ( I say this compared to SL weather). My car was covered with mist. The defroster was on yet I had some issues with the mist and humid build from my breathing. Then I noticed my side mirrors came clear. I touched it and yes it was warm so there goes proven the allion has heating mirrors.
