Hi I've been there some time ago. Believe me the place is very depressing. Not sure about directions but it's on your right hand side when "going". Prad, on the left side on the same road, in a v large coconut land there lies a kermit the frog green series 1 Mazda RX7 in dismantled form. You might as well exert your energy on that

Was thinking of anyone is importing panels and maybe engines from Brazil where the original was in production until a few years ago? This might be the best recipe for a real Superbug?

Thought of sharing these excellent vids that I came across while browsing....... from down under, from many years ago. Fantastic racing.

Hi Stay away from the Diesels. Only a few around so that's easy. We had one and it was a load of trouble. They apparently have design flaw in the way the belt runs. It's a long long belt and it twists and turns throughout the engine. It keeps on snapping. Oh and our engine went bust after around 25k miles if I recall right. I hear now the agents have done modifications to this and it does not snap anymore. However I am not 100% certain about this. That said. It's a nice car to drive. Very Good handling and very decent ride that will shame Japanese cars of that size. The driving position is awkward. The styling still looks great to me. Ours was a 1.9D (without a Turbo) so it had only 60bhp, but that was ok because it had decent torque. The petrol ones have 75bhp I think so that should be plenty..... Plus I have not heard any reliability problems with the petrol cars except for the already mentioned auto boxes.

After a lot of thought, I got a set of Kumho Ecstas. Since I've used this tyre before I know that they are quite good. The final choice was between these and Dunlop Sport Maxx. The Dunlops were 7k extra per tyre! Kumhos 12k Dunlops 19k each. Plus the wear rating was worse than the Kumhos even though the Dunlops looked like a real quality item. But then I could not say not to a 28k price difference. Thanks for all the input and assistance from all. Especially Devinda who gave a lot of insight into the various ratings!

The F50 is the closest to a F1 car for the road when compared with the F40 (more hype coz it was the last car that Enzo personally oversaw) and the Enzo (It's got his name!).

The MIchelin MXV8s have been struck off the list as they are "Energy" tyres. And my previous experience means there's not enough grip..... There is a new contender. Yokohama S-Drive........ Will have to decide before end of this week!

Crazy is not the word! What on earth are those TVRs doing this high???? And how come a shopping Renault that got a V6 where the rear seat should be is ranked higher than the NSX R????
-
Wow that is great! What's the country of origin and are they F1 GSD3s? Who else can I blame ?

Exactly what I mean...... Some say good stuff and others bad...... I was hesitant to add Good Years Eagle F1 s as one of my pals got less that 16,000kms from a set on his Civic! Dunlop LMs and Turanzas are completely out I've used both and they are in the same boat as Michelin Energy...... except that the Turanzas vanished like a soft eraser. Too little grip from these ones and are a mismatch with the capability of the car...... So it has to be the top versions . Not sure about the MXV8s so I guess I'll narrow down to the P6000s and Sport Maxxs. My bro used Falkens on his 155, good grip but it's that eraser feeling again. Got Hankooks on the MR2....crap. Don't know about Nangkangs though. Although I know Khumho Ecstas are great except for road noise. Had them on before the Yokos. Fwd Alfas are known to have a big appetite for rubber Especially the insides....... So I guess 20,000km is what I can expect from a high performance tyre........ Btw what's on the Z?

The run at Mirigama with the MFOC boys was the last nail on the coffin for my rear tyres (they used to be fronts). The treads are gone....... Have been shopping around a bit and wondering what should replace my Yokohama ES-100s. They've lasted around 17,000kms. Prices have gone up by around 25% since two years ago! Anyone has any experience with the following? 1 - Michelin MXV8 - Can't find a review on the net. 2. Dunlop Sport Maxx - Some reviews good, some bad...... 3. Pirelli P6000 - Same as above......... The size is 205/55/16. Car is Alfa 156 2.0

Hey did not see your kind comments about my Alfa . Actually I'm missing quite a few horses from it, think it's the Air flow sensor Very sluggish at low revs and revs sluggishly too if that makes sense Anyway I you are right about the handling, and it could have done a much quicker lap in the "right" hands. I made 3 mistakes on that lap nearly going off the track in two corners...... . Love to say let's go again.......but my tyres' tread has vanished .....................................

Yeah I know what you mean. Good grip usually means quick wastage and vice versa

This Evo list keeps getting crazier by the day! The Renault Alpine A610 ahead of the Mc F1 ????? I think I'm not going to buy an Evo mag again Or do they have some wired criteria that we are not aware of??
-
Yes a pal of mine picked it up. Work is painfully slow though with the tinker not doing much of tinkering at all

Now now boys..... I prefer to call it an MR2 and not a Toyota I think I've figured out why it loves to spin so much. I think that the geometry of the rear wheels are not right on my car. They seem to be set in a positive camber. It is visible to the eye and even more evident when you see how the rear tyres pick up sand. It's hard to believe though, took it to get alignment set 4 times and 2 different places. Need to sort this out before taking it out for a "spin"

Have to disagree Bugatti. Had them on our 206 and they were crap. Offered hardly any grip. Mind you Pugs have a load of mechanical grip and we survived on that alone. They did last long though but I was hoping they'd go quick so we could get something better. Have you got them on your Maz?

Yeah the Super Charger is "interesting" but the engine underneath sounds drab. I'm spoiled silly by singing Alfas! Ah Fwd vs RWD.............. I think I'll take fwd on small cars and Rwd on larger cars. Thanks great! Let's look forward to the new shocks

It has to be the 2.4 Jtd. None of the V6s made it here sadly.

Ha ha you won't regret it!

Yes sure! It's very good for an 80's car! Love the power (145bhp with the SC) and lightness (1000kg), so handy in traffic even without power steering. Can't stand the engine noise though, it sound like a sick Darth Vadar wheezing (Need an Alfa twin cam in there!). The ride is surprisingly good for an old Japanese car and with such a short wheels base. This is a big surprise for me. Steering could be a little sharper and more communicative (actually the 156 is more) for a sports car. Driving it near the limit is quite tricky to say the least. Done 180 deg spins twice now ! First one was quite scary as Prad will agree as he was the passenger! The throttle is sticky (a fault that I need to rectify) and this obviously adds to the snappy nature as does the super charger kick. I've lost the rear end on a few front engined rear drive cars before but have always been able to catch it or drift it into shape but when this let's go, it's gone!!! Need more practice for sure! Never driven a Z of any vintage before but if I'm ucscsades I'd put a bid on the GTV! Giulias feel exotic instantly. I recall the first few drives in mine. After it was properly tuned I took in for a test drive and when I hit 120 down Green Path I suddenly realized that this was something really really special and unlike anything I had driven (or imagined) before! It was late morning on a week day. Me in my long sleeves enjoying a drive in a classic Alfa! Unreal! It was only then (at that moment on Green Path) that I knew what I had bought. Then and there I was infected with the Alfa virus! No cure found as yet !

Lancia’s First Power Boat Is Making Its Debut In Venice
GTAm replied to Devinda_Z's topic in The Lounge
Wow What a Sexy duo!!! Owning a boat like this would make getting a babe like this no sweat at all eh? The Martini stripes look great on Black as well. Never imagined them on black before! I wish though that Lancia would get something this powerful with four wheels as well! -
The XJ220 ahead of the F355 and the EB110 ??? First time I've heard this..................... Is this a vote by Evo readers? The XJ was a big disappointment when it arrived because it was way over its weight target and got a wheezy V6 instead of the promised V12!

Hopefully he'll be dropped for next season. Time up too! Check this out, http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...one/8280566.stm

The other when stuck at the traffic lights in front of the Maruti showroom, there was a Alto with tinted windows along side me. Wasn't paying much attention until I noticed it getting closer and closer while inching forward. All of a sudden. The occupant pasted the car's spec sheet on the passenger side window as if for me to read. I thought he or she was holding it but after a while I realized that it was glued. How desperate? It was hilarious. I was laughing to myself. Felt like pushing it back into the showroom, but wished it was on my left as then it would have been nicer to push it into Kanatte ! Rude of me? Anyway the funniest bit is that I could not read the details as the window was tinted! I could only barely see the heading which was larger and bold!
