  1. Yes, but then I wouldn't be able to make sensationalist claims no fun! Phew, that's good to know. All this interlinked purchasing is a bit confused. Thankfully Toyota, is still owned by Toyota. That's all that matters to me really. ps: why do some of your posts have tildes over 'e'? is this a browser glitch something?
  2. Interesting! I thought Nissans had a good reputation in US.. guess I was wrong. Personally I've always wanted to buy Maxima. (please... don't laugh) Like.. woah.. dude.. that's not very polite!! Forgot your med's again? ..or.. let me guess.. Sunny driver Sunny's are great cars. I've had two so far, never let me down.
  3. According to BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6377751.stm Volvo is planning to purchase Nissan! Edit: It's just Nissan Diesel thanks Pericles
  4. Mileage in Sri Lanka can't be proven as 1. We don't have carfax or such services. 2. As all of you know, local garages can 'fix' your mileage in half an hour to say anything you like it to say ;)
  5. Try telling that to someone like meangreen who drives a sub 10 second auto ;) Speaking of Hondas, here's a nice video of a Honda http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmh-uBunRaU Guy redlines the engine and goes from 0-100 in around 6 seconds, maxing out at over 200..
  6. 2checout is the best option. A number of local sites use them - and they are reliable/safe, and recognise International Sri Lankan and other credit cards, besides its just $49 to get started - it's the deal of the century
  7. If you've been wondering how your Honda or Acura just seems to cover ground an awful lot quicker than your previous ride without even getting you a speeding ticket, listen up. Apparently, around six million Honda / Acura owners have been wheeling around in vehicles that are clicking off miles quite a bit faster than they're actually being driven. The Society of Automotive Engineers' voluntary standard for fluctuation in an odometer "is plus or minus 4-percent," and strangely enough, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration doesn't even regulate it. Honda claims that its units were "accurate to within 3.75-percent" on the high side, but a lawsuit against them claims that's just a bit too close for the average consumer's well-being. The automaker will be shelling out over $6 million in overcharges for leasers who were unfairly penalized for exceeding the agreed upon mileage, and will also extend the warranty mileage five-percent. Of course, Honda has since tightened up its standards (read: fixed the programming bug), purportedly "aiming for zero" in regard to future error, but if you happen to own a Honda / Acura purchased between April of 2002 and November of last year (or a select '07 Honda Fit), these benefits should be coming your way pending a district court judgment on the settlement. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2007-0...eter-usat_x.htm

perhaps this is because that gas is expensive?
  12. Aside from cost there aint much difference between the fuel they sell here (same ole crap)
  13. I keep seeing posts and comments about cracks and mods for software. Thing is: software piracy isn't really necessary: There are many open source alternatives to Microsoft software. For example Ubuntu (instead of Windows) and Open office (instead of MS Office). These options are free, legal, and perform equal or better than their commercial equivalents.
  14. Or, you could just purchase it. No need to be pirate

  25. A friend of mine recently bought a car. It's got a 2000cc engine, it's in suprisingly good condition, and the guy wants to sell it. I actually asked him why he wants to 'sell such a good car' but he didn't really have a reply. This got me thinking, so: To everyone at AL who ever sold a car/cars: what reason made you sell? 1. There's something hideously wrong with the car and you need to get rid of it soon before it falls apart. (J/K). 2. The numberplate is old/a new model has been released. 3. Your needs change (you decide you want more performance, ecomomy, or something). 4. You have more disposable income and you want to upgrade. 5. You buy/sell every so many years/miles as a policy. 6. You want to change the type of vehicle 7 Another reason (sheer boredom/something else)? ^ (edit: thanks fuzzo) (with me, my last two sales/purchase involved reason 6 and 3) Another question I'd like to ask people is: what do you drive for your daily needs (Car, 4X4, Van) and why?
