  1. Not only M'city . Most of the places are now trying to screw Us. Last week i took my car to P'la auto for tuning, any they charged 5000, and the funny thing is now the car is doing less kMPL than it was doing before the tunning work. I wonder what they did as tuning
  2. Hi.. Guys, It is great to have a set of nice people willing to help each other when one is in trouble. I greatly appreciate your advices. Finally i could solve the problem. I took the vehicle to a alternator repairing place and they diagnosed that the voltage regulator IC of the alternator is bad.(they said due to a water leak) . Before repairing the alternator battery voltage was around 11.75-12.25V. now it goes upto 13.85V. Now the vehicle is doing pretty well. Thanks again for all your valuable responses...
  3. hi all, Today i faced a serious problem in my FB15(automatic transmission). In the morning when i start the car it displayed red battery indicator, saying that battery problem is there. I ignored that and drove for about 10 KM, an suddenly the car stopped in the middle of the road. And it showed all the indicators. And after a minute i could start the vehicle and could drive it for another 2km, and then it stopped it again. and this scenario happened 4 more times, and i however managed park it at office. Now i cant drive it back to any place, i can start and drive for 100m and then it stops. and i can start again after some time. Has anybody experienced such problem ?. please help me do diagnose the problem. And please recommend me a way to get it fixed at my place(wellawatta), or a way how i can tow it back home/garage... please... help me ASP . (need a way to go home

  5. las week i bought those clips for my B15. I think it was C100 or some thing( Each clip has a code so you will have to take the old clip or have to know the relevant number code). Mine cost me 20 rupees each.I bought them from Samara singhe windscreen house in paliyagoda.
  6. HI ALL, In my Fb15 i have a problem such that, the place whare the front engine mount connect to the engine has broken . Currently engine connects to the front engine mount by two bolts. But the lower bolt has broken from the place where it connects to the engine. When i took it to a guarage the guy said, sir you can weld it and run for some time, and he said if you want to get it done at A*..W agent they will just replace the entire engine cover and it will cost around 100K. Guys it it true that we need to replace the entire engine cover. Is welding work will be egough for long run of the vehicle. Has any body experiences such a proble. Please help me on this matter. Fortunately still the vehicle does not create any problem for me (such as vibrating).   7. I raised this question simple because, in Nissan original B15 service manual it say as follows. Checking Fluid Level NIST0012 Check fluid level, referring to the scale on reservoir tank. Use “HOT” range for fluid temperatures of 50 to 80°C (122 to 176°F). Use “COLD” range for fluid temperatures of 0 to 30°C (32 to 86°F). CAUTION: _ Do not overfill. _ Recommended fluid is Genuine NISSAN PSF II or equivalent. Refer to MA-13, “Fluids and Lubricants”. WST032 Checking Fluid Leakage NIST0013 Check the lines for improper attachment and for leaks, cracks, damage, loose connections, chafing and deterioration. 1. Run engine between idle speed and 1,000 rpm. Make sure temperature of fluid in oil tank rises to 60 to 80°C (140 to 176°F). 2. Turn steering wheel right-to-left several times. 3. Hold steering wheel at each “lock” position for five seconds and carefully check for fluid leakage. CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel in a locked position for more than 15 seconds. 4. If fluid leakage at connectors is noticed, shut off engine, then loosen and retighten flare nut. Do not overtighten connector as this can damage O-ring, washer and connector. 5. If fluid leakage from power steering pump is noticed, check power steering pump. Refer to “Pre-disassembly Inspection”, ST-21 (QG18DE), ST-24 (SR20DE). 6. Check rack boots for accumulation of power steering fluid. why does it say CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel in a locked position for more than 15 seconds.   9. Hi Guys, In FB15, there is a thing such that the steering wheel gets locked if you turn it without inserting the Key. Can some one explain me what is the purpose of this . is it a feature which we can used as anti theft device. Or is it harmful to the vehicle if some one locks the steering wheel intentionally when parking and keep it that way for a long time(more than 5 h). thanks....
  10. Hi guys, I have experienced a problem such that in my nissan FB15 left side speaker is mal-functioning. So i thought of replacing the speaker by myslf (do it yourself stuff). Now the problem is the door is a manual one and it seems it is quite complex process to remove the door panel . Guys, has any one done this before. Appreciate if some one could explain me the steps i should follow. Or any web link which i can refer to. thanks..
  11. Hi guys, My car's headlight covers (Plastic) have faded very much. Now it has turned into a yellow colour. Does anybody know how to clean them and bring back to the nomal state. In the internet there are so many chemicalls for sale. has anyone used such chemicals before, Do they really work. Are they are available in Srilanka and any idea of the cost.

  14. Hi, I resently bought a Nissan FB15(used one). And yesterday i realized that after driving for about 20KM the engine compartment,radiator and the horses connecting are getting too hot. But the meter does not show any sign of over heat. The horse connecting the engine and the radiator was almost melting. Can some body help me to figure out what is wrong with this car. Is this a normal scenario ?. Do i have a cooling system related problem ?. How much will it cost to repair such thing.
