  1. This is a common with any car that has EPS. Even in certain Honda's and Nissan thats the case. So nothing to worry. Just continue using as it is without spending unnecessarily.

    Importing Car

Is it possible to sell a car unregistered after bringing it down under personal name or company name? What would be the complications? Any Experience?
  3. Thanks Jaga. Yeah, depending on the varied test environment the mileage might vary. One of my friend confirmed that it does 10-12KM in colombo, which is good. Yeah the steering rack rattle is common with all EPS I was told, so nothing to worry about.

  6. Hi Clarks, as you rightly said the price difference is not very much. But when i compared a passo and vits the passo had more space than the vitz. Also I didn't like that meter board coming in the center of the dashboard in the vitz. That's why thought of going for a Passo.

  9. Thanks Jaga. Infact the Vitz and Passo both have the same engine I was told. I checked a Passo and Vitz, the Passo seems to be having more space than the Vitz. There is better leg room space for the rare passengers. That's why thought of going for a Passo.
  10. Hi, Anyone using a 1000CC Toyota Passo? How is the car? Generally how is the fuel consumption of the vehicle. How many Km's does it do for a litre? Thanks.

  12. Well for a NZT240, 2004 I think it might be in the range of 150-200K. But for a Unreg NZT 260 the difference might be much higher.
  13. Guys if you'll are planning on an Allion NZT 260 please make sure of the grade that you are buying. That is if its a Std Package or a G Package. Std Package Cars are much cheaper than G Package. And also look for options such as Original Xenon and Illumination Dashboard which are not available with Std Packages. Also there are lot of Std Package Cars which have been brought down from Singapore, some of which are unsold cars which have remained there for 2 years without being used.
  14. Hi Bro, I think some of your Custom Charges figures are not correct!
  15. This is just only a mere 18% reduction. I think if we actually see we should get hyped about this duty reduction. I think its just a mental game that they are trying to play. If you actually see even after this duty reduction we are still having to pay more than what we paid 3 years back. So i don't think it is still cheap even though we are just hyped up by the attractive marketing.
  16. Thanks for the info Bro. As per the first hand info i think prices are on the rise in Japan. The Culprits of the cause r our friends.
  17. Hi, I tried calling them. They do not have any vehicles here. They said if they want they could bring down vehicles and give but the actual price cannot be said and only a price indication could be given. I have my doubts on this.
  18. Which car sale is this? Is it in colombo??
  19. No Bro, the govt Tax is calculated based on the (Brand new CIF prices * Dep) and not the actual CIF value in the invoice.
  20. Well looks like all this hype about tax reduction will not benefit people immediately atleast those looking for 2nd hand cars. Since its going to take couple of months (atleast 6 months) if at all for these price reduction to reflect in the second hand market. And no one knows what other takes or charges might be introduced additionally to compensate this marginal reduction in the next few months. So looks like someone who was waiting for price reduction will have to wait even longer and see if there actually is a price reduction. Hope his dreams would come true. I was looking for a car and I would rather go for it rather than waiting for months wishing for the prices to come down. After all we are getting a wheel for our own use, whats the point waiting for months in uncertainity for prices to come down.
  21. No Mate, What I meant was the original alloys which comes with the car.
  22. Any idea as to where u could get the original alloys?
  23. Thanks mate, for your suggestion. I am planning to get a set of alloys for my Allion. Thats why just wanted to check whether it would have any impact on the suspension. Any idea as to where I could get a original set of alloys?
  24. Thanks Ripper. So u mean to say that chinese alloys are good as Japanese alloys and are made to almost similar specs as japanese alloys in terms of weight, size, e.t.c??
