  1. How about a mini?... Spare parts wouldnt be a problem and pretty good economy. Others that spring to mind: Daihatsu Charade, Honda City (All 1980ish Models). Newer alternatives could be a perodua kelisa or suzuki kei, but i doubt they would fit your budget....

    Mp3 Fm Modulator

I beg to differ, as in my car atleast, even with the key off, the lighter still works. Perhaps it depends on the car... Better check it out first...
  3. Hope this helps: http://www.dialog.lk/personal/mobile/featu...laneous/satnav/ Hasn't really been publicized much... I was beginnig to wonder if it still existed... 110,000 is a lot for most though, and most people are quite happy to ask directions from 3 wheeler drivers...
  4. Anyone else saw this channel being tested recently? As far as I can work out Dialog TV is testing this as well as another channel called discovery science on Channel 1. Really hope they stick with Discovery Turbo though, as it is totally centered around everything automotive, Great for us guys!
  5. Well indeed, what a great race it was for shumi. Coming 4th and definately showing that he can drive like the pro he is by holding off button so well. I actually feel sorry for LH on the penultimate lap, that must be so frustrating, but of course for the spanish crowd it must have been a miricle to have alonso move up to 2nd. Vettel also proving that he can show self control and nurse the car back to the finish with an imminent brake failure, again highlighting their reliability issues... Good show by Webber, faultless drive from pole and a well deserved victory. This is gearing up to be a brilliant and unpredictable season.
  6. I don't think so, or else we would be seeing quite a few super cars in SL without tax being paid. I'm pretty sure that by law you have to pay tax on any car imported to SL, regardless weather u intend to register it it.
  7. Yes. The car is indeed now in police custody. The sellers are also in jail.... :S
  8. Apparently the car has been sold to a certain famous racing personality in the island for 9 lhks... The car was not legit, and is still unregistered, and as I understand the sellers have been caught, but the car is still running as it was sold before the matter came to the attention of the authorities...

    Assemble Vehicles

If I'm correct, instead of the customary red no plates, they are usually in white in the RVM traditional style - a sign of a 'permanent' garage plate perhaps?
  10. Was going down duplication road today, and to my suprise I noticed a nano on display at the D*MO showroom... So I guess the car that has had so much fuss made about it - not just in india but in many european countries too- has finally landed in Sri Lanka... Wonder what it's price is here.... (Obviously absurd in comparison to anywhere else)
  11. Well said According to another topic in this forum there are vehicles being assembled in minuwangoda.... I won't hijack this thred though....

    Assemble Vehicles

I think I've seen this vehicle... I wondered why it was on garage plates all this time...

    What kind of Japanese vehicles?
  14. So what was the point in imposing this 2000CC ban? Environmental issues? That seems just plain ridiculous to me... When Malaysia had a high import on cars similar to our present structure, at least they encouraged local car production!
  15. I have my doubts that sellers, especially importers who have already paid high tax for the cars on their forecourts would be willing to sell them at a low/resonable price for quite some time, when and if they reduce import tax.... Sad but true...
  16. It may be that they anticipate a reduction in duty, so they want to make as much as possible now using high import tax as an excuse, before it comes down.
  17. Kinda reminds me of the clay models that designers make when in the final stages of car design. If I'm not mistaken thats based on a mercedes with the grill of or similar to a modern day lancia...
  18. Yeah, I kinda Guessed that... Just thought I'd have a try anyways
  19. Any of these iconic german beasts here? http://www.orange.co.uk/images/editorial/A...hes-450x300.jpg
  20. Perhaps again a little off topic.... But I really can't understand why the rules say that BMW Sauber has to maintain the BMW tag.... BMW Sauber Ferrari as is seen on the timing sheets must be embarrassing to all parties involved to say the least...
  21. Its interesting how mercedes is really dominating F1 now. Their advertising stratergy has come at a time when honda, bmw, and toyota pulled out due to costs. Its highly unusual to see an ad for a supercar anywhere in the world but they must be on to something. Couple this with the fact that the top 3 drivers of the last race all had the 2 pointed star to thank and its a classic 'win on sunday, sell on monday' act. On another note, I'm intrigued by the MGP ad thats also being aired. Do you think that one was another mercedes based ad, or is it mainly for petronas?
  22. Will Pasindu have had his evo fixed?...
  23. Perhaps in hamiltons defense the racing got the better of him. Sure its easy to say he should be more disciplined, but lets not forget the controversial moves schumi made back in the day.... And even ayrton senna had more than his fair share of 'unfair driving style' remarks. The really sad part is the FIA, who imo should have penalised him, or else how is he or any other young driver going to learn and take it to heart?
  24. Buton still did a good job of making his tyres last, just bad strategy again... I really wasnt impressed with lewis' double weaving though.... But bar that, an awesome and yes competitive drive displayed. Lets not forget the force india of adrian sutil finishing respectively high up the order... Full credit to rbr, finally the result they deserved for along time.
