ATF change is suggested. There is a confusion whether to get it done through an ATF change machine or mechanically draining similar to engine oil change.Not sure what is the manufacturers advice ?.

My starlet EP91, 1.3lit (99 make) clocking 8kmpl only in the city. It is with 185X14 tires and Engine and Transmission oil also from previous owner. Can this affect this much reduction or any specific areas should focus ?. Appreciate word of advise from an expert.

Thermostat was not replaced, I just got one and will refit it. All 03 mounts replaced. Detonation means extra sound "krata"..."krata' coming from the engine in addition to it,s normal sound. As per Mr Alawatte, there is no timing adjustment for Fuel or ignition for this model. Valve timing can also be a problem ?. Petrol consumption also seems high last fill clocking 10km/lit only.

Need expert advise Recently got a YOM 99, 137K ODO car seemingly not very well maintained. Engine was heavily vibrating and found all 03 mounts broken. Carried out an engine tune up as well at Mr Lal Alawatte. 1. After tune up it was observed that detonation taking place at high speeds. Found defective thermostat valve and it was removed. Still it detonates(When climbing hills with load). Is it a known issue for this model ?. Understood no adjustments available. 2. Two rear shutters are electrically operating but only a short movement. Found widow beading also move with glass. Any recommendedn place for getting it fixed ?.
