There wont be a race guys... I heard that the axio he was boasting about is not his in the first place...
-
Ha haa haa... funny... So its not your car after all!!! so much for our drag race...
-
Go for an Axela fizz...
-
Yup... rare but there are some... There was one advertised in AutoLanka as well...
-
I did guys... However its the 2007 model... It did cost me about 3.5mil (wine red) and I am very happy about the choice I made... Axela 2009 model goes well over 5 mil so it was not an option for me... It's 1.5ltr engine does about 10km/l in Colombo... And I am very happy about the fuel economy. Good performance lots of options and very comfortable ride. However on the downside I miss the factory fitted reverse senses and a handle to open the trunk

Well that's exactly what you mean by importing a vehicle under your name... Even if you have a so called dealer is Sri Lanka, if you are importing the vehicle under your name, what he would do is to introduce you to the seller and guide you with the procedure provided above + find you a walfclark... He wont be able to help you more than that...
-
Your question is not clear mate...
-
Machan isurujosh, What about our drag race.. I have a wine red Axela in my hands now... What about your Axio? Cheers....
-
Thanks mate... your comments are comprehensive and helpful... But I would like to add couple of more things that you need to know/follow when you are importing a vehicle... 1. Normally the per-forma invoice value of a vehicle will always exceed the agent value of the model. So normally its a known truth that most of the personal importers will get the invoice exactly matches with the agent value of the model and send the rest personally. I think this is illegal but seems to be the common practice now. 2. When you are opening the LC you will also have to get the HS code of the model from the importer. Its normally a 8 digit number.

Factory Fitted Tv/navi/bluetooth Sets From Japan…

Yup... But what about the navigation systems? Does the unit changers according to the service provider? -
Factory Fitted Tv/navi/bluetooth Sets From Japan…
Napster replied to Napster's topic in General Automotive
Hmm… Thanks for the explanation… But I think the original fitted setups in JDM, are in better quality then the stuff you could find here… Can’t we use NTSC to PAL Converters so that we could still use the set that comes from Japan? I went to several car sales around Colombo and I saw most of the unreg vehicles which are on sale are equipped with Japanese setups… For radios however…. they have a small gadget that you could fix to the antenna input where you could convert the radio into a full band… I used it sometime back and it works and fairly cheap too… -
Factory Fitted Tv/navi/bluetooth Sets From Japan…

I agree... But I don't understand why we cannot use the TV and Navigation sets that's there in Japan, here... If i am right we are importing the TV's from there right... like Samsung, LG and all... so how come these systems in cars wont work? -
Guys… There are so many unreg’ vehicles that come with factory fitted TV/NAVI/Bluetooth from Japan… As far as I know TV and navigation will be useless here… And those sets come with very good brands like Panasonic, JVC but most of them are again in Japanese… Further as far as I know you have to pay additional tax of about 30k for the unit itself but to find them not working in SriLanka… What do you guys think?

I don't recommend KP to anyone fellows... I got my 121 painted there... believe me when i say it... There quality of work was very bad... I had to get it repainted by Auto Miraj as the colors didn't match... Only plus point in KP is they complete the work on time and you don't have to worry of leaving your car out there as they have 24x7 security... And the prices are high too... But I didn't mind that as i was paid by my insurance...

How much is the difference between the Axela new model and the old one Isuru? I am pretty sure the difference should be more than 1mil...
-
Dude… In your perspective you are right I think my wisdom tooth is growing in the wrong direction I started this thread honestly expecting to find some arguments in both ways… But I do understand now I had my mind set on an Axela over an Axio. Hopefully if I was able to get my hands on a new Axela, we should definitely make it a point to drag Cheers mate…
-
ZuL... I think a price or a fully loaded Axio should not exceed 4 mil... anyway is this a brand new or an unregistered? i thought you can buy a recon Axela for the same price range....
-
Isuru... Machan have you seen/touched/driven the two models? Axela feels sooo good and when both cars are together the Axio is like a Vanette next to your Cefiro... No offenses none taken....
-
Guys.... What would be the best option? Toyota Axio or Mazda Axela 2009 ? Axela looks perfect, lot of options, very new model and probably will be rarer than Axio... But second hand market ? Any advice?
-
Machan.... Do you intend to sell your car... There is a friend of mine who is desperately looking for a manual N16. Btw how is the condition of the car? We went to see couple of N16's... but they all has done over 100,000km and asking about 2.0mil Please upload some pics if you can... Thanks...
-
Yup... it looks far better than a Belta or a 121...
-
If i had 2.5mil in my hand... actually my first choice would be a Toyota Vios... It's has very good looks, cheep parts + you get a one with a very low mileage with 1.5 engine... Toyota 121 will be my second choice as for less than 2.6mil I could only buy a pretty old one probably with some defects But mind you 121 is has a very good 2nd hand value. And Belta would be the last. Belta comes with 1300cc engine and I think this will cause it to have a low second hand market value.... What do you think guys?
-
Yes but manual N16 EX Saloons are freely available....
-
Hay friend I used a N16 for couple of years... It’s a great car to drive... very comfortable with extra leg space. It’s a better car than some Toyota once... N16 is less prone to engine troubles and it’s a very reliable car...
