Hi All Just need some expert opnions. I have a 1996 ford festiva with ok body condition ( With no corrosions) however the paint has faded away and has few scratches. Its been parked outside most of the time as there is not enough sheltered space cos of my parent's car get the prominance..... My question is what precautions should I take to prevent the car's body from corrosions?. I wash the car once a week. I know i might have to do a paint soon. Thought of covering the car during rainy season by using a good car cover... any thoughts on this approach?

Hi All Recently I topup my ford festiva ( 1996 Gli) at a petrol station and person who was pumping continued to pump even after clicking sound of the pump. He stopped pumping when the fuel was filled up to the tank's inlet. After closing the fuel cap I saw there was fuel leaking under the tank. But it stopped after abt it leaked for few seconds. ( Abt a liter or one and half liters). Then I showed the car to a near by mehcanic fearing there is a leak in the fuel tank. However his comments was that petrol tank has an overflow and it thorws out the extra amount of pertrol u pumped. I want to to know whether this is true??? or should I check for further. This happened only when I pumped full tank.

I drive a 1996 ford festiva. recently I was accelrating on the fourth gear and suddnely gear sliped in to Neutral. i thought gear might have not been engaged properly. But then again it happened for the second time.... this happens when accelrating on the 4th.... any idea what is the cuase for this???

Recently bought a car ( Ford Festiva GLI 1996) previous owner has not used it for about few months. At the time of buying AC was not working ( NO cool) so i took it to an ac workshop and found out that gas was not there. Once the gas is pumped ac worked fine. I asked the technitian to check if there is a gas leak, I took it to the workshop the next day and found out that gas pressure is ok and there is no leak,But I am still worried cos when I bought it there was no gas at all and worried it will happen again. My question is 1. What would have been the reason to have no gas at all. Is it because previous owner didnt use it for few months?? or is there any other reason Thanks

Thanks Guys for the Info. I went to an electrician, he took out the floater and found out that coil which the arm is connected had worned off,so they couldn find a suitable coil, I had to go to some J**an l***a in kalubowila and had to buy a one similar one which costed me Rs 1750 but now gauge is working properly.

Fuel indicator (fuel gauge)... is not working properly in ford festiva gli 1996 model. Even pumped full tank it shows as empty.... Does anybody know the reason? any good electrician to fix this issue?? Thanks
