  1. Damn, just saw this.. otherwise could have told you don't really need a lawyer, it's a 1000-1500 extra expense for no reason. cos they don't really reduce ur fine at all. You need a friend who can pay the fine on ur behalf while u sit in the cooler for a bit. For minor offences it's not worth crap to get a lawyer who will prattle off a few words under their breath when ur case is called which the judge doesn't give heed to at all. Be prepared on Friday (depending on which court this is) to 'pay' the cop at the register to release your license once all is said and done. I had experience of this cos I had no clue where my license 'overleaf' was (or I had never seen it since year dot) so the bugger wouldn't release the license without me getting the 'overleaf' - which I had to apply for newly from RMV (big process) 500 bucks settled this...
  2. Yeah I haven't heard about any conversion kits for the Vxi/Zxi version, although I'm sure you could pick up some pointers on Indian forums, and correct me if I'm wrong, the conversion + the car would cost more than a Swift Sport altogether? (that car is around 3.2-35mn) Like terra said, I think my own car has more cosmetics than performance, lowered chassis and sports suspension + modified ECU (although I'm yet to find out exactly what) but provides a decent pull for the 1.3 engine. Hard to get your hands on a Glanza or Starlet GT? I tried, but failed, before getting the Swift
  3. thanks for the advice, will try these out and check
  4. That was before this latest top up machang, and it was an outstation drive so it did well... this latest tank, well, is already down to half at just under 120kms
  5. Hi Everyone, need some advice / direction. I'm running a 2007 Jap Swift Beetle (ZC11s) and usually on a full tank of petrol (37.5-38l) I get about 350-380kms. My issue is this, I recently filled up the tank from the Flower Road shed and the needle is already at just above half a tank and it hasn't even done 120kms... usually at this point it should have done about 190kms on the meter. I'm wondering why this is... cos so far the figures have been round about consistent and now this is a noticeable change. No change in driving habits or amount of traffic or anything like that. If it helps to diagnose, I went to Arugam Bay and back over the weekend and racked up about 720kms on 1.5 tanks of petrol. Any advice? Been taken for a ride? something packing up? Thanks in advance!
  6. Interesting point... probably it'll be Colombo-Galle-Hambanthota, Colombo-Kandy-Trinco, Colombo-Katu-Kalpitiya-Mannar-Jaffna
  7. haha yeah it's crater heaven there... no matter how many times they fill it up it just sinks from the same place all over again. :S Thanks machang I think it's time for a full health check.. hope it doesn't get followed by a fat... cheque.... I got bushes replaced maybe about 8 months ago... and then the front shocks 2 months ago... I think you're right about the figurative straw thanks machang
  8. naaa not fast... but my GF lives pretty far inside Malabe (Pothuarawa road) that road is worse than the moon, and when I had 17"s I had to change to 15"s... sigh... for the betterment of the car. so fastest I've probably gone on those roads in a hurry would be 50... usually around 30-40.
  9. Hi Everyone, just want some info... I got a 2007 Swift (ZC11s) manual and the car has modified coils and lowered, in addition with the body kit it's pretty low. My issue - I do drive on really bad road surfaces most of the time, and I've replaced my front shock absorber units about 2 months ago. Yesterday I had to take a rather heavy individual in the car (he weighs about 110kg which is double me.. so the weight distribution was terrible ) and thru the bad roads a knocking sound started coming. Mostly heard on declines and gear changes. I can feel a kind of knock on the clutch as well. It got a little better after dropping him, but still occasionally comes... like a dull 'duk duk' sound... Can anyone help me to identify what might the issue be? Before I take it to A*W and they say I gotta replace a whole bunch of stuff. (I hope my shocks are still under warranty) Thanks guys!
  10. Haha no worries man
  11. You've paid to enter the highway? Some sort of advance fine just for you? The day I went they were reading off average speeds of vehicles based on their entry/exit times. So if you wanna speed, be smart like the guy in the Type-R. Whizz through at 200 and take a half hour cig break on the shoulder
  12. 80000 million lakhs? 80,000 x 1,000,000 x 100,000 ??? 8,000,000,000,000,000... *Googles figure....* Eight Quadrillion!
  13. da da dum! um no.
  14. Haha I really don't give a shit what happens man... whether ppl are copped or not and yeah I did notice a Blue Axela on the way back... must've been about 5:30pm on the road yeah? nice car! Some dudes burst and slow down.. that's kinda annoying, cos they pass u at 120 and then slow down to 80-90 and then u gotta pass them... kinda like a moving musical chairs lol
