I need to import 1300cc vitz year of manufacture 2008 model with sd2 engine. Can i import one less than 2700000 =)

i know people who import vehicles from japan through their friends but these prices mentioned are not realistic at all. And i agree with the points raised by others. My opinion is don't personally import a vehicle from japan unless you personally know that individual and that person must be a person that you can trust. It doesn't have to be from a auction. But most of the cars Sri Lankans get are from auctions. But then again most of the vehicles in car sales are low quality vehicles that have been subjected to minor to major repairs and their mileage is also adjusted to impressive figure. I have to admit that I am not being sarcastic here. For most Sri Lankan's having a good vehicle has become a dream and it is reasoned by many factors.

Hi Mr Dragon, thanks a lot for the information. The tax system for cars is a serious ride. You know various importers says various rates. Various agents also tell various rates. I think 1695 is the upper most limit probably for brand new vitz. thanks anyway

It is must to wear your seat belt especially when you are in car that has airbags focusing towards your seating position

According to mu knowledge it allows only used vehicle between 3 - 10 years of use.

I think you have to get one from a Japanese auction through a agent based in Sri Lanka. The agent will charge you Rs 25000/= or more. Ramad is a just another auction. Proces you see there is the minimal bid. They sell the car to the highest offerer. Regards
