Al*i*nz is the most useless insurance company.. I was with Al*i*nz for 11 months and last moth I met with an accident. The fault was with the 3rd party and they were not interested waiting for allianze assessor. So I called the assessor and informed the situation. The assessor told me to take photos and let the 3rd part vehicle go. I did accordingly and now they say 3rd party vehicle was left without authorization and my claim is on hold.. never trust Al*i*nz and their service ... they just miss uses you. After 2 weeks they are just investigating my claim and not a penny paid to me. After all I got advise from them.

I doubt the tax revenue will increase from this tax hike... More taxes = less imports = less revenue for the government.. so basically these is a personal agenda behind this tax hike. Only Ravi and top level imports will know that.. If you know what I mean.. ;-)

seems like have to go-through normal valuation process of the customs.. That means indirectly the depreciation is still there. It will be depreciated from the FOB value..

this is incorrect.. according to custom website tax increased to 80% not 150% previous 150% for below 1000CC has gone down to 135%

Seems like Ravi got caught to a good offer from large scale car importers.. I heard owner of Ishara or Indra traders have strong links with Ravi..

According to finance ministry site, present depreciating table is off for all vehicles, and hybrid taxes will increase tonight... Revision of Vehicle Taxes 8.17 In order to encourage low income families to purchase a motor car to improve their living standards, I propose to reduce the taxes applicable on the motor cars with engine capacity less than 1,000 cc by around 15%. 28 8.18 The present tax structure on motor vehicles has created an unhealthy disparity between hybrid and normal motor cars. In order to rectify this anomaly, I propose to revise the excise taxes applicable on hybrid vehicles. These changes will be implemented from mid night today. 8.19 The present practice of depreciating the value of vehicles at the point of import has created many mal-practices, including under valuation of vehicles and changing the date of registration. This has led to a significant amount of revenue loss to the government. As a solution for this, I propose to remove the depreciation Table with effect from mid night today.

I bought my car insurance from Allianz lanka 2 years ago and never made a claim. Recently I met with an accident and the person who came to inspect approved me around 90% of the total repair cost. (which is fine with me) Then after few weeks I did the necessary repairs and submitted the invoice to them and after week I'm getting a letter saying my claim is not acceptable and regretfully they have to decline my claim!! Can they seriously do that ? Accept a claim first and after you did all the repairs inform they can't pay ?? I was with j********i for 5 years and never had any issues.I thought Allianz is a much better company due to their global exposure but they proved I'm wrong... I regret I left j********i for a bunch of idiots!! (specially Mr Rajasinghe, who sent me the letter and appears to be a senior motor engineer) Don't these people have any common sense ??? I did all my marine insurance and business insurance with them for past 2 years and never made any claims and they are making a big fuss about my Rs12,500 claim!!! Its not a matter of money!! Its a matter of ethics!!! For all the people who are considering Allianz... ITS A BIG DON'T FROM ME!! I'm back to j********i !!

I was planning to buy a Belta 1300CC but the price is too much.... So I'm planning to buy either Ractis 1300CC or Vitz 1300CC.. Can anyone tell me what is the best option. ? Really appreciate any advice guys.. Thanks
