  1. A friend of mine at Central bank machan. Heard similar from a friend at a leasing company too. Im just at the verge of buyinh an unreg car. It could be a good +/- 200,000 before/after budget. Wondering which way it could go.....
  2. I heard from a some what reliable source that Excise duty (XID) part of the vehicle tax (which is currently at about 17%) is going to shoot up to 35% ?? Think before june it was over 50% and was brought down by a huge margine and vehicle imports shot up drastically. Govt might be thinking to find their so called "profit maximising" tax rate by putting it up again ?? Anyone got similar news ??
  3. Hi morning, After going through all the posts - Im going to call them and ask them for at least a part refund saying if not will lodge a complaint and all that. Think thats my best bet now instead of trying to spend even more in trying to fight. Will keep you up dated. Thanks for all the advice.
  4. It will only be forcefully.... and dont know whether itll work or not..... and dont know how much itll cost me as well.... dont want to end up with more spending than gaining..... unless they them selves get back to me with a refund after seeing all these posts........And thats my only option
  5. May be im inexperienced in dealing with car importers so that it happened to me.... But all were posted for the hurt I got..... Atleast any other person seeing this might be causious when paying any deposites....
  6. I wanted to tell coz same could happen to anybody.....
  7. Hi Mr. Wijesinghe, I started the post thinking it would give me some help. Yes I got the money from his assitant who was there at office. He told its refundable even though the receipt says non-refundable. I got the receipt only at the last moment and I trusted his words since its trust that matters most nowadays.. True it appears that I have not done my part to ensure I have sufficient proof (as the receipt says non-refundable) but I believe its not nice to say differently and act differently (in this case issuing a receipt with non-refundable printed even though he said its refundable).... In a way its a one way contract where the customer (in this case me) didnt have a say to whats printed on the receipt... I dont know Mr #### personally or through dealings since I happened to change my mid in the middle. Anyway Wije.. if you get my point trust matters alot which ensures word of mouth happens and customers get attracted without any adverts. And the opposite just happens when trust is broken. I cant fight for my money as in front of courts the receipt says "non-refundable" but as i told earlier having a satisfied customer of greater value than wining a court case... Dragging this thread wont do any good to me.....
  8. Ya true but wanted them to know that theres bigger community out there who would listen to it and loss of business is way more than the 40k... Wanted them to know that the danger of a single disappointed customer far outweigh the mere 40k......
  9. Think they have another branch in Nawala.... They say they bring cars from a Japanese company called TAKASHI
  10. Ya Im thinking on going for that..
  11. I saw this add on paper where ##, ward place, Colombo - ## undertakes vehicle importing on your behalf. They wanted an advance and they said its refundable if you decide not to buy, so I gave. They told they'll soon start sending photos of available cars. Two days passed not a single photo or a phone call. I waited another 2 days and nothing happening and told I want my deposite back.... They said tomorrow, tomorrow.... I decided to go there but they refused to give back saying they spent all that on logistics and stuff in Japan... blah blah...all the crap.... Todate havent got any photo nor my money back..... Tell others to be aware of these SCAMMERS..... who steel others money..... I only can warn since ive already lost it.
