Hi,
I beleive the reason for this is the domestic and export models, that toyota have.
see export models are produced mainly in Thailand, and the domestic models are the original Japaneese made cars.
hence we have the Butt ugly Corolla 141 with bicycle reflectors on the bumper, and my latest favourit mass purchased car the axio.
its the same with Prados the TZ models are export and for some reason feel lesser in quality than the TX which are the vehicles produced by the japs.
anyway you cant blame the car, or the maker, the general expectation when buying a toyota corolla or a similar car such as a sunny B15 N16 whatevr, is cheap to buy and FUEL ECONOMY and if they were to make these cars stronger they would be more expensive and also less fuel efficient, the light weight recycled salmon tin body is a major contributor to its fuel efficiency.
the problem here is inexperienced drivers, who cant handle what the engine deliveres to them coupled with the un expected condition on the roads of our country, judging by the corolla here the driver was pushing the living daylights out of his car.
on a bumpy road in an area like polonnaruwa where ther is a lot of wind it takes only very little for a car like that to catch some wind under the car and become completely un controlable by the looks of the pictures and the lack of blood it looks like only driver in car, which makes it a very light weight to toss.
Bottom line the corolla is a mid ranged family saloon meant for "responsible dad or mum" kind of driving if you wanna race hang a coroola and by your self a car with a bit more of a racing pedigree.
Dude dont diss the build quality of the corolla, although it costs a fortune here thanks to taxes its quite a cheap car abroad and hence you get what you pay for.
there is a difference between quick and fast, driving fast and just flooring it, think and always look way ahead when driving, you can minimize a lot of un expected shit that come up on the road.
also drive fast coz you can and not to show off, the worst driver is a driver who drives to show off.
Thanks J.
