  1. i spoke with them as well. I don't think they're interested in catering to this particular permit. I'm going to get one down from the u.k. As in go there myself and look for a bargain :-) . Just need to find out the rough duty for this when its brought down wo a permit. A clearing guy said it's around 4-4.5 depending on the age and options. Anyone agree with this figure?
  2. I have one of these permits and been wondering what to get. Now finally decided on a C Class 180 Kompressor sports (1.6L). Been asking a few guys who import on the rough duty on this car if I were to import it WO the permit but they seem very vague on a figure. Do any of you guys had the experience in importing this car? Any idea on the duty under the recent changes. Thanks guys.
  3. Hi guys! How is the market in Sri Lanka for the Toyota Auris? Don't see many on our roads so thought I'd ask. My BIL has a 09 Toyota Auris in the U.K. He wants to sell it and was wondering whether shipping it out here was a good idea.
  4. With a budget of 6 mill you cannot go looking for the most comfortable SUV in Sri Lanka. But if you can increase your budget by about another 2.5 million a Landcruiser 100 65- might be possible. Now that's a cushy ride.
  5. FYI the Hilux does have a catalytic converter. It's not just in European and Korean vehicles.
  6. Hi! There are many injector cleaning fluids available at our service stations. In fact Toyota too have their own such fluid. Do any of you guys have any experience with the use of these fuel additives? Is it any good? And most importantly will regular and proper use of these cleaners prevent manual injector cleaning? The reason for my query is that my Hilux (brand new Thailand model) has done around 138,000 k.m. Since of late it has developed a vibration on early morning start ups and an odd clatter from the engine as well. It gets back to normal running once the proper running temp is reached. It reached a rather alarming level this morning hence, I spoke to Toyota Lanka. They seemed pretty sure my injectors were blocked. It seems that it has come to a level that the injectors have to removed and the cleaning carried out the old fashioned way. The manual advise the use of their cleaning fluid initially at 75,000 k.m and every 45,000 k.m afterwards. I used it initially around 115,000 k.m. So it clearly has gone way past the manufacturer's recommendation. I most importantly it hasn't worked (for me at least). Also a word of advice for fellow owners with cars with common rail diesel engines. It is advised that the best place for any work in relation to the engine be carried out by the respective agents as many owners have learned a bitter lesson after work has been carried out else where. Hope to see some constructive comments. Cheers guys! P.S : Any idea how much it costs to get the injectors cleaned at T Lanka?

    Bmw M5 In Sl

The F10 M5 will have 552 bhp (560 PS / 412 kW) and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque from a twin turbo 4.4 V8 (According to Autocar). Significant step up in power and torque it may be but it'll be not as special as the current unit as it's a heavily revised version of the engine used in the F10 550i, F01 750i, 650i, X5 50i, X6 50i. The X5M, and the X6M already use this engine. In the past M division used unique engines for their offerings. Well to our bad luck it looks like the wizards at BMW have learned the benefits of economies of scale and scope :-( . Future emission control regulations and price of petrol will make sure another V10 monster will never see the light of day again (in a M5). The current car (E60 M5) will surely become a collector’s item one day. Check this out.
  8. i bought a 08 civic hybrid with 36k on the clock. I'm quite surprised and disappointed in equal measure to find that the best fuel consumption figure I've managed to reach is around 9 k.m/l. Yet to take it out station so the above figure is in city limits. Which they say that a hybrid is ideal for. The people who sold me the car said it could do 14-15 and that's what research and reviews show as well. From a few people I've spoken to face a similar problem. I know driving style may affect the figures but how hard can a person drive within col city limits. With the exception of wanna be boy racers. Do any of you guys know what the problem might be? If so, some feedback would be much appreciated. Cheers.
  9. The Toyota Hilux is not manufactured in Japan anymore. Under the Toyota IMV project they have allocated production to Thailand, South Africa, and some South American country in order to reduce costs. So anyone looking for a Japanese HIlux will have to settle for a LN167 last produced in 04. I have a Toyota Hilux bought brand new from the agents in 2005 (KUN25 new model). Have run 135,000 k.m and haven't even had to change the shocks yet. Just routine servicing and maintenance. Having previousely owned a brand new LN166 97 model I can say this model is superior to that in every way.
