My Toyota Corolla AE-110 (1997)automatic has begun to emit a sound each time the front wheel goes into a rut or over a hump and when starting of i.e. accelerating from the stationary position or increasing speed. It's a kind of knocking sound that comes with CV joint issues. Left it with a mechanic who I suspect didn't go through the car carefully and said it is probably a crack of sorts in the engine mount and nothing needs to be done now. Is this right? Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions. Thought I could get only the crack sealed like they do abroad. Looks like I need to buy a new windshield
