  1. From what I hear things are bit better now. Now they are actually capable of fixing the cars without offering a new one :) :) But still parts are very high. Sometimes not in stock. Build quality is poor. And the service is really poor.
  2. So here is some feedback. You cannot bend the side mirrors electrically. Not sure why this basic feature is not there. Vehicle lights are yellow Entertainment system doubles up as the gauges for the A/C system. For example if you turn the cold / heat knob the amount is displayed in the entertainment system. There is no other way to see this. So not sure if you can replace this with a aftermarket branded model to upgrade A/C system is basic. no Auto function Display on entertainment system is very poor quality. Even cheap chineses once have better displays Sound system - poor Seat belt warnings stay on even without anyone sitting on the seats. And goes off after some time Interior build is pretty cheap Seats average - not bad actually Vehicle look is good- for me :) Pickup is good multi function has a lot of options, includes bluetooth as well Supports Apple but not Android No other fafety options than Airbags and ABS So overall I would say if you really want a brand new SUV but don't have the money for that go for it. For a small SUV this is cheap! Else I feel the money will be wasted. 2nd hand market; not sure. But I have a good feeling PPL will not go for this. But I can be wrong :)
  3. Ok, so I think the best is to get it from ebay. But you need to get the part number. 2L engine parts will not support 1.6L engines. Are you registered at colonial? if so they will help you to get the correct part number and then just import it. They will even fix it for a small fee. That's the cheapest. But if you are in a hurry get it from one of those shops. Good luck and let us know how it went
  4. Well i have the 2010 version. It does 8.5 - 9 in colombo. And 12 - 13 in outstations. I'm pretty sure of it since i cross checked the fuel consumption with the traditional way (when pumping fuel).
  5. Guys, i'm also looking for a OEM HU. Please let me know if you know a place.
  6. You need to look for the a device that supports multi function keys. Try advance audio systems.
  7. Thx mate, i checked with Pet#o and they offered a kenwood with Sri Lankan navi for 68K. Maps are from sala it seems. But still comparing units.
  8. Does the card you purchased have map of Sri Lanka? or just Japan?
  9. I'm familiar with Garmin. Had a biking GPS device sometime back. The plus point is that you can track your route with it and share with friends. However I was thinking of getting a complete set that supports navigation too. Any tips on good places around colombo to get it fixed? Appreciate all the help guys
  10. Thanks for the tip mate. Unfortunately what they offer is some unbranded version. Maybe I should pay them a visit and see. The only problem is I don' know any other decent service provider to compare the prices and see. Also I wonder if I should order a good device online. Then again will it fit?
  11. Hi All, So I was looking for a place to get daytime running lights fixed for my Mazda Axela. To my knowledge they should look something like this (even though different variations are available on the market). So i'm wondering does anyone know a good place to get this fixed? or to buy them at least? Also I have seen the angel ring (Halo ring) version installed on Mazda 3 vehicles. Wonder if anyone does this in Sri Lanka? See below for image. Now regarding the car audio / nation system I called Sun Lanka. They offered a device which will cost me 35K to install and the maps of LK for 11,000. Again does anyone know a better deal? Thank you all, let's try to continue this thread and share knowledge so all car owners could benefit and keep there vehicles nice.
  12. I don't think you got my point mate...
  13. Yes, you are exactly correct. And it's same reason I would take my car to the agents. If its a very common brand you fund under each rock and leaf then any service station could manage but on this case i think its bit rare.
  14. Any idea where to buy a car setup like this in Colombo? http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-Car-HD-DVD-Player-Radio-Stereo-GPS-Sat-Nav-Navigation-For-Mazda-3-2010-2013-/281349464341?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item4181bc2115&vxp=mtr
  15. Tried Colonial motors. Service was fine. And you are right, they took more than 5 hours for the service. But they did a good job.
