  1. Dude , We have 3 Viva Elites in our family. My uncle ordered Viva Elite (standard auto) around last week of August 2011. Anyway as vehicle is getting delay day by day, he changed it to Premium model and got his vehicle around 07th of January 2012. (I think they had a premium car in extra or due to cancelling an order). You keep continuing calling to the person who handled your sale. Also call to the general line and check the arrival dates from some other sales person. If the situation is worst, call to Manager Mr.Lionel too. You have to push them continuously. Don't depend on the answer of your sales person. I also did the same.

  7. Mr.Sylvi Did you read my comment properly? Didn’t you notice following sentences and specially the underlined parts. "But regarding most of the Chinese vehicles I see in Sri Lanka ……." China produces most of the vehicle brands we see here in Sri Lanka (Pajero…Hiace…Alto…) and they are common on chinese roards. But remember most important thing. China use “Left hand driving vehicles, LHD” except in Hongkong (Hongkong use Right hand driving vehicles, RHD). So even Chinese are so strong in vehicle production, they produce very limited amount of models with Right hand driving (RHD). So you don’t get the best Chinese vehicles to Sri Lanka. So what vehicle importers do is bringing the avilable RHD models here which are not best in qualty. You may dreaming that, one day Chinese vehicles will lead in Sri Lankan vehicle market and I don’t believe that. Time to time English , Japanese , Indian vehicles are popular in Sri Lanka , why ????? They all are use Right hand driving vehicles (RHD) and we also can get the best models avilable with them. (That’s why even second hand vehicles of Japnese and English vehicles are running on roads here) Chinese Vehicles and Chinese Machinery are two different lines. Don’t you feel the difference? (If you think in this funny way, you can easily think Indian buses are dominating in Sri Lanka & Indian cars must be the best) Chinese have same machine from superb quality to inferior quality. I import best quality machines with reliable after sales service. Market is open and some people bring inferior quality things from China & spread out here due to low prices. So it is common here that “Chinese goods are in inferior quality”. Real problem is not "China" but the "Quality of the particular item". Understand the truth please !!! Sampath Gunasekera
  8. (By profession I am an import agent for machinery from China. I have been to China and have some experience there. No to boast or telling my personal things here, just to share my experience only.) Most of Chinese company doing is they make vehicle body and fix some famous brand engines (specially for heavy vehicles). That's why in China you can get same vehicle either with Isuzu engine or Mitsubishi Engine. Unimo imports Nomad Zoyte (Copied version of Dihatsu Terious First generation /Toyota Camy ) with Mitsubishi engine.Still Mariti 800 1st generation also produce by Nomad in China and name as Jianguan Alto , with better function and interior, better look and also comparatively cheaper price. But regarding most of the Chinese vehicles I see in Sri Lanka , quality I am not satisfied. I checked a Chinese lorry imported by I*d*a Traders and body quality is very poor. Why while Viva Elites and Maritis selling in hundreds, Cherry QQ sale in Sri Lanka is only 20 units per month? Getting a vehicle and modifying is an useless point. Dudes I think we are going away from the topic....
  9. Search & find following topic. My Complete Noah Build Started by JadeyBlitzen, Dec 26 2011 10:39 PM
  10. I am also not sure about Chinese cars. But about Maruti , it is not good as most Japanese vehicle barands, but Mr.Don I have aready expirinced it. We have Mariti Wagon R at home which is bought brand new and already 50,000km completed without any problem. So I don't like to say Maruti is bad. Within price bracket Maruti also a good option. Regarding Volvo, I just mention it as an example only.
  11. I am also wondering why this happend to Viva Elite only. Even JapaneseToyota Allion runs nicely with 90 Octane. But this is true. I have expirienced this issue with two viva elites in our family. Any expert please explain this.... (In Maruti Alto K1O operation manuel , they advised use only 92 OCtane or more. But Elite it is mentioned as 90 octane ????? )
  12. No. Concerning about pickup, I don't feel a difference between 90 octane & 93 octane. But engine knock is less when Octane 93 use. But there is a big difference when I use 95 Octane. Superb pick up , smooth running and no engine knock. Price for IOC Euro3 (Octane 93) Rs.145/= per liter.
  13. Dude, that is true. Concidering all points every vehicle has its own best speed. Previously I had a Japanese Alto HA11S Manuel with 660CC, it has its own best speed 60km. Once I could achive my ever best fuel economy 20.68km/l. But for Elite I think best spead is between 70 – 80 km.
  14. Dude, that is true. Concidering all points every vehicle has its own best speed. Previously I had a Japanese Alto HA11S Manuel with 660CC, it has its own best speed 60km. Once I could achive my ever best fuel economy 20.68km/l. But for Elite I thnk best spead is between 70 – 80 km.
  15. I also agree with Mr.Sylvi Wijesinghe., Brand new car (Make does not matter) is better due to follwing reasons. (1) Every system in your car are totaly new and work properly. (Eg: A/C, Tyres, battery ... all are new) (2) You get a manufacturer's warrenty (My uncle has a Volvo S40 Diesel, he found some problems within warrenty period and it was a manufacturing fault. Swidish trading replaced a new engine at free of cost) (3) Any problem comes you have to deal with the agent. No need of wasting your time for seeking spare parts at Panchikawatta. (4) As you are the first owner , since first day you can use car with proper maintanine and carefully and you are confidence on the true milage of your car.
  16. Actually Perodua cars are imported to about 10 countries. Usually there are 400 units of Viva Elite allocated for Sri Lanka. Due to high demand here, without any advertising Unimo can easily fulfill this 400units target in every month. I ordered my one in 1st of March 2011 , I had a chance to insert my one in to February L/C as two - three cars were short. Therefore I was lucky to hear that my car has been arrived to Sri Lanka on 11 May 2011. But now it is very common to hear that shipments are getting delay. When I order Automatic one was Rs.1,500,000/= with registration. But due to government tax increase , when I collect the vehicle I had to pay Rs.90,000/= more.
  17. I think so. Rs.12,500/= registration cost + Rs.5000/= with holding tax included to these prices. These prices are according to the quatation I received last week from Unimo.
  18. Standard Manual Transmission - Rs.1,547,500 /= with registration Standard Auto Transmission - Rs.1,647,500/= with registration Premium Auto Transmiison (ABS+Air Bags) - Rs.1,897,500/= with registration If you order now you can collect your vehicle end of May/early June 2012
  19. Micro Panda is 1300cc Viva Elite is 1000cc. I am using a Viva Elite and it is a car worth for money you spend. But price is out of your range. Standard Manual Transmission - Rs.1,547,500 /= with registration Standard Auto Transmission - Rs.1,647,500/= with registration Premium Auto Transmiison - Rs.1,897,500 with registration. Also if you order now, you have to wait until end of May/early June 2012 to get your vehicle. There are 2,800 cars are pending.
  20. We are having two units of Perodua Viva Elite in my family. I also some times observed engine knock with 90 octane petrol and found this with both vehicles. Company asked me to use 95 Octane petrol and check. Yes, when I use 95 Octane petrol then never observed engine knock and got better pickup to. As 95 Octane petrol is costly, I also use 93 Octane (IOC-Extra Primium) now.
  21. @Shane 10, Dude, I think your Viva Elite is with automatic transmission. But below 10km/l means I guess there may be a mistake somewhere. Usually 1st to 2nd gear get changed automatically easily and soon. But change in to 3rd and 4th gear you have to push the accelerator pedal more and more and wait. But I have experienced when shift to 3rd and 4th gear, you press the accelerator pedal (hear the engine sound and feel the speeding) and when you feel now time is suitable for a gear change , then release the accelerator pedal and press again gently. (Then before vehicle get changed the gear automatically, you may get it changed by yourself.) It is easy to describes as this. At high gears you think your vehicle is a manual transmission one and listen to the engine sound and feel speeding and you press and release accelerator pedal as I said above. Timing you decide normally as when you drive a manual transmission. I have observed this and this method will give you better fuel consumption. I think a lot of people are aware on this by their practice. (If my explaining is technically wrong , any expert please correct this) Also maintain correct tyre pressure and do air filter cleaning time to time. Also one more thing experienced with my Viva Elite. After done full tank, in my Viva Elite it takes 45 km - 53 km to disappear the first digit of digital fuel meter when drive in Colombo. But the day I had my best fuel economy 15.1 km/l , it takes 79km to disappear the first digit of digital fuel meter , while I travel from Ganemulla to Kalutara. There at some areas, I reached 80km/h speed. That means the fuel amount which I use to drive 45 km - 53 in city limits is well enough to drive 79km out side town limits. (See how traffic congestion burns fuel) In town limits so many gear changes and we drive at low gears. But outside town limits, we can maintain a relatively high speed at low RPM and gear changes also less. So fuel economy is excellent.

  23. Mine is Viva Elite -Standard Auto (6600km done). Since first day I do only full tank and maintain records properly. I travel Ganemulla to Frot and back daily. It does 10.4 km/l - 11.3 km/l with A/C. But out side Colombo fuel economy is higher. My ever best fuel economy with this vehicle is 15.1 km/l (Ganemulla to Kalutara). (Calculations based on used fuel quantity and travelled distance , not based on digits on digital fuel indicator)
